I'm thinking about buying the Realtek RT 8187 USB antenna, because my router isn't particularly close to my console, and a wired connection is particularly difficult to install because of the setup of my house. Do you think the PS4 will accept third-party wifi devices, and if so, do any of you know how well this particular antenna would work for this application, if at all?

Will the PS4 accept USB antennae for extended wifi?

Whenever I used my Playstation Wi-Fi was never a big problem for me. I always had a strong connection whenever I used my Playstation 3. I think you would have to be a great distance from your game for the distance to interfere with the connection. I never even knew USB antennas existed for gaming systems. The only one I was aware of was the Xbox 360 Wireless adapter.
