Will there be a God of War for the PS4?

God of War has been a staple game of the PlayStation console since the advent of the PS2. The series has produced a lot of heart pounding action, superb story telling and a big epic adventure in each installment. But I have been living under a rock recently and have not heard of a PS4 release. Will the be a God of War game for Sony's next gen console?

I think it's inevitable. There would probably be mass hysteria if there WASN'T one!

I would be surprised if there wasn't one. I'm pretty sure there will be at least one. What will they make one for the Vita? Because they should!

Well they are bringing the God of War HD Collection for the Vita.

I'm sure they will as it's still one of their most successful exclusive titles. I'm a little bit tired of it by now, honestly, but even then I'm still curious to see what the PS4 version will look like. I think the GoW games always come in later/mid in the life of the console, though, if I'm not mistaken.

Probably there will. Nevertheless, I'm not that anxious to play one. I'm definitely tired of this franchise by now. They need something new to spice things up.

Oh there will be another God of War. There's plenty of different directions to go with it by picking a new folklore tradition. As a matter of fact, the game could actually run along the exact same narrative and have an identical climax since there is typically a "twilight of the gods" myth to most of them. Greco-Roman lore had Olympus' fall with the Titans, the Norse had Ragnarok...with Fenris, giants, and all.

How could there not be one? Even it if were completely mediocre and average, it would sell comparatibly well to other titles who have to get attention first. Just by saying "The first god of war in 1080p, next gen graphics", etc, you are already guaranteed a decent metacritic score and decent sales.

It could also be really good and become a blockbuster, but it's not even needed

I wouldn't be surprised if they did but if I'm completely honest than let me say that personally I don't want one. I'm kinda sick of the series and wish they'd take a break since personally I think that the last game lacks any sort of creativity and Kratos has become completely irredeemable in my eyes.

If we're all honest than of course there is going to be another God of War on the PS4. Regardless of the criticism they got it's still a high selling franchise. But yeah, I don't want one either. I can't stand Kratos anymore and I find myself rooting for the Gods. Besides what else is he going to do? Go around the world to take on other Patheons? Try to stop the oncoming of Christianity?

How could there not be another god of war for the ps4? If there's tons of money to be made, rest assured it WILL be made. The god of war was not only such an amazing game but it had a ton of followers. There's no way in hell a gaming studio would miss out on the chance to make good money on this.

Good point, forgot about it. Hope it's a good port unlike the awful Jak HD collection.

If they don't bring God of War to the PS4 (which would really surprise me), they will almost certainly remake some or all of the originals purely for the graphics alone. But, like I said, it would be pretty crazy if they don't make a God of War for this generation of gaming. I know there was a lot of people who have either bought or planned on buying the PS4 strictly for another God of War title.
