Will you be able to store your games in the cloud?

I heard that games are going to be available via disc, or download.

My question is will i be able to save my digital company to the cloud? That would be great that way i could keep it for ever, and if something happened to my system i could still download it because it would be linked to PSN account.

Is that how the system is going to work, or will i only be able to download it once?

I don't know yet if a whole game can be saved to the cloud or just game saves. Once you purchase something from PSN it is yours forever. You can uninstall it and download any time you want. Games, DLC, Avatars and backgrounds will always be linked to your account. This also applies to purchased movies but not rented. When the time is up on a rented movie that's it.

I haven't tried this yet but I am pretty sure you can! I love the idea, it makes life so much easier and you don't have to worry about losing the disc or running out of memory on your system.

You will, but I don't recommend it yet. The Cloud technology is still pretty undeveloped, which means that it has a lot of bugs and many bad things can happen if you aren't lucky enough.

Yeah, you can, it's just linked to your PlayStation account. I'm pretty sure you can redownload it since that's probably going to be one of the advantages of using the cloud. I'm interested to see if we'll get any good third party games with PS Now or mainly just first-party Sony titles.

The Cloud is really unstable right now. I can't count how many savegames I've lost just because I wanted to store them on the cloud instead of occupying my HDD space.

Yeah. i know about DLC, and add-ons. But i doubt that they would do it with entire games because of the amount of money they would lose. People break, and scratch games beyond use everyday, and they have to go out, and buy another one.

I know that has to be a big part of Sony's revenue. I hope they allow this though. I will never have to worry about disc scratches again.

If you are running out of HDD space you just delete the games you are not playing. If you get the desire to play them later just re download them. It is that simple, Trust me I used to do it all the time until I put a 1TB in my PS3. Things are the same on the PS4.

By doing this you will not fill your HDD with a game you are unsure if you want to play. If you ever change your mind you will have the game.

Yep,I do this too,cause when it disappears from the PSN store you can still download it later from your downloads list.
Handy for PS+ subscribers cause if you havent finished a game for eg and running out of HDD space you can just download it later as its in your download list,just like everything you have downloaded under that account.
Did this with Tomb Raider on PS3 as it was free for PS+ but I havent even finished (or started really) Infinite Bioshock or Metro Last Light yet.And running low on HDD space on my original 80GB PS3.

O.k. That is cool.

I will definitely be buying all of my games digitally this generation. I do not see a reason why i wouldn't. There is no need for physical disc anymore. I think that is the future. the next generation of consoles probably will not have disc drives at all.

That would be really cool, but i am getting to far a head of myself.

Especially with the 500Gb hard drive. You can store a lot of games on that. However. I wonder if a lot of content on the hard drive will slow down the performance of the system. I would love to store a lot of games on my hard drive, but i do not want system stability to suffer because of it.

AFAIK the main issue with HDD as far as slowing down involves fragmentation. Theoretically with all that the PS4 will be doing, that should never be an issue as far as a noticeable difference. I assume the PS4 creates a partition on the HDD that is separate from the saved content (not sure though).

500gb goes by faster than you think!

I like having games on my hard drive because I can load any of them up on remote play for Vita when I am not near my PS4.

Huh that's neat. I didn't ever think of that. It's like a Steam backlog for the PS4!
I really do wish we had lower prices on digital DLs though. Paying the same price as a physical copy isn't worth it when your ability to trade it in is removed.
