Will you be picking up Dying Light?

I'm still conservative because it looks a lot like Dead Island in terms of combat and I don't like Dead Island, so I'm going to play it safe and maybe more gameplay and see some opinions first before picking the game up.

Most likely not. Not much into zombie games, and this just seems like a parkour version of Dead Island.

Hmm.Ill wait and see how it turns out, watch and read reviews.
And..when Dead Island 2 comes out Ill check that out too. Im in no hurry and though there's nothing wrong with having both if Dead Island 2 is more 'arcady' this time round I might go for that one.

I pre-ordered it today, but it all makes sense being a Dead Island/Mirror's Edge clone. Though I don't mind first person and free running abilities, I'm skeptical on how the actual gameplay will turn out and I do have preconceived notions that the game will be repetitive. Otherwise, I am due for a zombie game and am hopefully they will throw some curveballs in there to keep things exciting. But will there be guns?!?!

I got the game on pre order the voices are ok but the animation on the characters is a bit wooden. But the game itself is so far amazing. The world is so large and you can explore so much. The parkour dynamics take a little getting used to but I am so far loving the game. I have been recording my gameplay and hope to have some youtube videos up soon. I would recommend getting for sure.

Hey Guys, I got it as a BD present from my brother, really happy with it, add me to friends to do some co-op or just to invade!

Personally, I won't be, for various reasons. Some I've stated in another thread, but I'll re-iterate them here so someone doesn't have to search through my post history. So, Dying Light, yet ANOTHER zombie game that offers "Free roam" capabilities. Now, looking at it, the first thing you'll notice is that it's pretty much using the same exact engine that Dead Island used, and it's sequel, so right off the bat we shouldn't expect anything fantastic to come from this game. The "Game Play" videos all seem to have parts of the HUD Disabled, but I'm more then willing to bet that once the actual game is released, we'll all see the familiar damage indicator and the magical health bars that appear above the zombie's heads, along with their level. Following that, Dying Light is using an exact clone-copy animation set from Mirror's Edge. While it's kind of cool to see those climbing mechanics in a game that's actually focused on action and fighting, it's still incredibly lazy to use the EXACT animation set. Go check out a video of Mirror's Edge, and then watch Dying Light, you'll see they are the same.

Moving on from that, this game is supposed to be based around "Survival" much like Dead Island claimed to be, but from the videos they've released so far, it's still the same type of game. You can meet and save random NPC's, but after doing so they just give you some cash and maybe a weapon upgrade, then stay inside the broken down building you just killed 15 zombies in. There's no type of escorting, or bringing them back to your camp as there is in Dead Rising 1 and 2 that we've seen yet. Simply put, I won't be picking this up because without a doubt in my mind, it's Dead Island 3, just with a new name and location.
Not sure if u mentioned anything else since the release but you should reconsider. Everything you pointed out is wrong. Flat out wrong. Just sayin.

So today I went to pick up my preorder of dying light at ebgames ( first time buying at ebgames). Only reason why I did so was because it offered the season pass if you preorder through ebgames. Well worth it. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1425118153.152813.jpg

I'm loving this game. The graphics and gameplay is silly smooth, weapons and crafting is upgradable with differnt kinds of zombies lurking the streets, then at night the runners and crazy ass fast zombies track you down through radar. I won't be giving a full depth review but so far I'm happy with my purchase. I'm gonna give this game a 9/10.
