Wow so addicting

So growing up in Europe I have always loved football and follow the games in the US from across the pond. I am sad to admit that this is my first time playing FIFA and I am hooked! The problem is......I am horrible! I am 2-6-28 I have played other sports games (madden, NHL, NBA, baseball etc.....) for years and have always either excelled or was at least 50/50. The funny thing is, for me to be so horrible, I still love it! How can I get better? It seems I am always getting out shot by my opponent. Time of possession is always tied, but I will get out shot 17 to 5 or something. I really want to improve, but after 36 games I dont feel I am much better

I've not played a sports game online; I've not even played a soccer game in years, heck I understand the female reproductive system more then I do European Football. I do plan on getting two new games soon, Madden 25 one of them, I may snag Fifa as well and I'll break your win/loss record easily lol

Yes, this is probably the most addicting game I've played. It's just so good. Do you remember I think Fifa 99 which had the indoor option? Now that was some good fun!

I haven't bothered to pick up a fifa game since 2010 because quite frankly the game doesn't change a whole lot other than updated teams and updated tournament modes. It's not worth the money considering all you do is kick a ball about for 90 virtual minutes.

Disagree, I think the FIFA games are awesome. Granted, like the OP said, I'm awful at this years game, it's still incredibly addicting to play. I don't know what it is, but I've simply enjoyed watching the games get more and more realistic over the years. If you have the money to spend, why not buy the next years game, otherwise like you said it's not the biggest difference. I'd still have fun playing FIFA 12 or 13, but now that I have 14, why bother going back in time?

I like the FIFA games when I'm playing with someone else--really any sports game outside of NHL I kind of need someone else to play with or else I get bored quickly.

This is sports games in general. Really, it's all sports games.

Pssf I dig FIFA games. My main thing in FIFA (and another sports teams) is to take the weakest team and improve them throughout the franchise mode.

I've always played FIFA. I too prefer the Career Mode rather than Clubs, UT or just the occasional online match.

I'm really impressed with FIFA14. I was half expecting it to be just another FIFA13 with a different song playlist, but everything in Managerial mode is so much simpler yet detailed this time round.

Maybe when there are enough members who are FIFA14 players, we could have our own forum tournament? ;)

I love playing FIFA too because I also like football (soccer). The only way you'll get better at it, is just by playing it, really experience makes it all.

Definitely a lot smoother and better on PS4 than it is on PS3,, looks great too. However the gameplay is ok at best and easily exploited with high pressure / aggression custom tactics,, esp with the poor first touch control this year,. Still too many lob through balls and op headers,,leaves this years game probably the most noob friendly fifa ever,,, and I have played everyone since 94/95.

Imo the gameplay has being faltering since fifa11. The world cup south africa one being probably the last really good version.

Still has a lot of plus points too,, and the casual gamers will love it,,, if like me tho you have played them all and play to win and care about your stats,, you will be frustrated at losing games to so many chance goals, headers, corners, and lob balls. Have played so many online who spam lob balls for the whole 90 mins this year

Still hooked tho lol :)

Because I've always played Fifa recently on the 360, when I started FIFA 14 on the PS4 it see's me as a new player to the FIFA games, so I'm on Semi Pro difficulty. I need to change the difficulty level to get the more out of it.

To be fair to the game most of what I mentioned above is in online H2H seasons. I dont really play the computer much,, although you will have a more realistic balanced game there. The computer won't try to exploit the gameplay to win against you and does try to resemble a realistic football sim. I always have at least a season or two first when a new title comes out to adapt to the changes. I sometimes try the career mode,, but I guess I get my fix of that kind of thing on Footie Manager,, and it would never be that in depth anyway,,, still fun sometimes signing the same unknown players fm footie manager and trying to develop them in a career mode on fifa.

A lot of the issues in FIFA online could easily be fixed if EA just stopped custom tactics and custom formations for online play and leveled the playing field. Its not that I lose all the time ,I can tweak to win too,,but I would much rather just win fair and square.
