XBOX ONE will out sell PS4 on release day

The xbox one will easily out sell the PS4 on launch day. All the Xbox owners will be ready to rub it in PS4 owners faces. The reason for this is simple. As to date the PS4 has only been released in North America. On November 22nd XBOX ONE will be released in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the UK, and the US. Sony will not be releasing to the rest of the world until November 29th. The Countries to get the PS4 then are,

Europe: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom

Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and Peru

Most of Asia will be waiting until 2014 for either system as ell as Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, as soon as possible in 2014 for the XBOX ONE. This will be a hard race to call as release dates are scattered all over the calender.

So try not to get drawn into the fanboy wars or start them. It looks like it might be awhile before we know the results.

Ha ha yeah. PS4 was released first in US,but xboxone will released 1 week before the PS4 in AUS and in many other countries. What do you think will happen 1 week after that when PS4 is released?
Pre orders in AUS for PS4 are double that of the Xboxone.

It's a good estimate though and the fact the console sold over a million in just one day in one or two countries alone is impressive. The cool thing though is; I am looking forward to seeing who sells the most in 6 months and 12 months.

Yeah, where I live the PS4 pre-orders have been sold out for months, whereas Xbox One consoles are still available on Launch.

To be fair, I never pre-ordered my PS4 but was able to get one at launch anyway.

The total number of pre-orders doesnt mean much in terms of overall sales. The majority of retailers have a number of consoles they don't reserve

It doesn't really matter as the PS4 has far more preorders than the Xbox One. They might get day one satisfaction by beating Sony but once both consoles launch completely worldwide, it'll be obvious who the true winners are. But yeah the fanboy war is pointless since most news outlets realize that Sony is going to win.

I don't really care. Years from now, Sony and Microsoft would be laughing themselves all the way to the bank because of the millions of console units that they have sold throughout the years. It's fun to talk about who would have the higher sales at the end of the launch but it's not the entire picture. But I do expect a close fight between these two giants because they have a pretty solid fan base.

Both consoles will do very well for themselves in different regions. And we'll have to see what happens over their respective lifetimes, but in the long term most analysts agree that due to the pre-order totals and consumer interest that the PS4 will do better. It doesn't hurt that it's less expensive.

I have no clue why the hell I lol'd but you are definitely correct bud, their employees are happy, the employers are happy, they're selling tons of consoles and making profit and doing what they enjoy. Sounds like a dream.

It's all just a gamble right now, in fact it is all just by chance. There are those who will buy both and those who are fan boys (SONY ALL THE WAY) but though I love Xbox as well cause it's another console that offers similar things, Sony has just been around longer and been doing things in very interesting ways for over 15 years.

Yeah, there are a ton of people who wrote things online but until we see some actual numbers then it doesn't matter. Nothing will until we see final numbers after the holidays. Might the Xbox One sell more than the PS4, sure anything can happen. Will it? Probably not according to consumer opinion but it doesn't matter until release day.

OK I think a few of you did NOT read what I wrote. The PS4 has been released in 2 countries, Only 2. on the 22nd the XBOX ONE will be released in 13 countries. You following so far? That is a total of 11 countries that the PS4 is not available in yet. It stands to reason that the week following the 22nd XBOX will outsell the PS4. Once the 29th hits I honestly believe that Sony is going to slaughter Microsoft. As far as I am concerned North America was just a test. The 29th will be the Day Microsoft realizes the rest of the world doesn't care about kinect, NBA, NFL and having your console on to watch tv like we can do right now without a ONE.

I thought "on release day" was the key part of the title given that Microsoft was shooting for more than just the U.S and Canada on the 22nd. The title didn't end with "PS4".

I am expecting Xbox One to outsell PS4 by quite a margin, it's really not much of a surprise. Xbox 360 was more popular than PS3 last gen, so all the CoD kids are going to want the same as their friends and wont even consider changing, probably.

But as I've said before, it really shouldn't matter to anyone. PS4's userbase is going to be just as big as Xbox One's, the difference shouldn't be that noticeable. We're still going to receive all those awesome games and Sony aren't going anywhere.

If Xbox One ends up being a tad disappointing and Sony seriously play their cards right, then who knows, maybe people will start to want a PS4 more and will look into trading or selling their 1 for a 4 . It really is unpredictable though, and if anything of this nature does happen, it wont be sudden. Personally, I'm not expecting this generation to be any different to the last.

I think it'll be close just because Sony was able to supply a very impressive (and record breaking) 1 million units to North America. I have no doubt Xbone could sell just that many, but it's all about getting units on shelves. Having 1 million units available on Day 1 is tough to do, so hats off to Sony for doing it.

I read that Sony expects 3 million units sold by year end... And something like 5-6 million by their fiscal year end (in March).

OP is comparing apples to oranges.. Launch day sales may be higher, but in the short term (6 months to 1 year) is the area you need to be looking to see who does better over all, probably closer to 6 months for all the early adopters to get their consoles.

Microsoft has said publically they will not speculate on their projected sales (I'm sure internally they are though) and let the chips fall where they are. Each console offers something a little different, at a different price point. I guess we will have to wait and see if the extra 100$ over the PS4 hurts or helps Microsoft.

I think launch day sales, for both consoles, really just depends on how many consoles they can produce. Sony was able to produce 1 million in the US so they sold that many. Whatever MS manages to get on shelves on Day 1, they will sell. You're totally right about sales 6 months - 1 year from now being the really determinant. Then we'll get a clearer idea as to who is demand more. Of course, last generation, Sony had a rough start but still managed to make it about even between the two in the end.
