xperia zx problems

I have just purchased the experia zx premium and decided to use the ps4 4 control app
so after locking my controller into the the app and letting the phone take over I now find that I cannot connect my controller to my ps4
even when my phone is turned off the controller just flashes
does anyone out there have any idea how to revert my the controller back to the console

Sounds like it's not in sync anymore. Shut off the PS4, take the USB cable, plug it into the PS4 and the Controller. Turn on as normal. It should sync. These steps should work too if the PS4 is on as well.

tried it with both cable in and out but no difference either way
if I hold the console button for few seconds the blue light flashes for a short while then goes back to white but there is no power up to the monitor. I guess it must be in sleep mode or similar.
is there anyway that I can re-set back to factory settings or do I go back to my trusty old xbox , lessons learned fingers burned eh

If you pair your controller with your Remote Play app on your mobile, you need to re-pair it to your PS4 console by connecting it via USB and pressing the PS button on the controller. You shouldn't need to hold it down for any length of time.
