Call of Duty has run itself dry, in my opinion. They are fun, but I would never buy it new. Actually, I just bought Black Ops 2 a few weeks ago at a yard sale for $5, and I still feel like I wasted money on it sometimes.

The problem with buying older ones is just that the playerbase always shifts to the new one, so there's not a lot of good people to play against on the older games anymore. Otherwise I'd be all for buying older titles for cheap. I'd love if they stopped making CoD games for some time instead of releasing a new one every other year and then coming out with a really good game, because to me most newer CoD games seem rushed or unfinished at some places. But that happens to all games nowadays, except Blizzard and Valve games.

^this is the only reason I keep buying their games. I would love it if they took 2 years off and tried to move forward. Unfortunately, they are in the making money business and suckers like me keep paying them every year.
Activision may release a CoD every year but it's been a 2 year development cycle.I just don't think they are able to make a game with the quality I expect in 1 year.
I will be interested in CoD when it is a sci-fi shooter with aliens and such.
