Your PS2 is Phat or Slim?

What was the first PS2 or only PS2 you bought? My first PS2 that I bought was the Phat version which was in 2002. After a few years, the laser was failing so I traded it in and got the Slim version in 2005 which I regretted. The Phat was a lot better in terms of heat management, after I got the Slim I had to cut back on gaming time because I was afraid that it'll overheat.

Original Phat model, never had a problem with it,I still have it tucked away somewhere, dont have any games for it anymore though.
But I do still have a few PS1 games that Ive kept.

I still have my entire library of PS2 games and the slim. The PS3 that I bought was a launch 60G version that has backwards compatibility so I kept playing PS2 games on both. The only PS1 games that i still have are Resident Evil 2 & 3, and Dragonball Z Legends

I have 3 PS2 Phats. I have never owned a Slim. 2 PS2's work but 1 don't because that was my childhood PS2 and I left it on all the time and it overheated and fried the power supply in it. I left it on because this game didn't have a pause feature and I was in the middle of a game and couldn't save it...I got that in 2001 or 2002 but I got another PS2 after mine overheated. I still have all my PS2s. I also have a PS1 Phat and a PSOne (the Slim of the PS1) and I have a PS3 Slim I got Christmas, 2012 but I never had a problem out of it though.

I have a PS2 Phat and up to this day it is still working. However, there were some games which the PS2 could not run anymore, such as GTA Vice City and Radiata Stories, since my PS2 is modded. I occasionally had to stand up the Phat model in order to keep the game running. In any case, the PS2 Phat will eventually wear down because of age. The only PS2 games I am still playing are Dynasty Warriors 4, Soul Calibur 3, Star Ocean 3, Final Fantasy X, Manhunt, and GTA San Andreas. I also never bothered with a PS2 Slim, since I already subconsciously knew that model will not last as long compared to the PS2 Phat.

I have a PS2 Phat. I had a PS2 Slim, but something told me to keep Phatty. Turns out Slim was about as reliable as the original Xbox.

I remember awhile after the PS2 Slim came out GameStop here was having a bit of trouble moving them. People want the PS2 Tonka.

I have my slim for years now and never had a problem. The spring on the hinge is broken, but I am perfectly capable of lifting it myself. The internal console still works like it did on day one.

My PS2 is slim. I wasn't able to get the bulky one. I wanted to get the fat one though because it seemed to be more sturdy and looked a lot cooler.

I have both. I got the launch model phat. Had all sorts of issues with the DRE. I opened it god knows how many times adjusting the laser height, cleaning it, etc. Limped along until like 2007 or 2008 when it completely died and I got my slim. Its the silver slim. I like it but miss using my phat. I have it above my TV as a decoration piece now. I'm hoping to one day replace the laser but was having issues finding a replacement laser. Anyone can help, let me know :)

I had a phat one for a couple of years that I bought pretty close to release, maybe about a month or two after.
That one broke after four years or so and I got a modded slim :)
Ironically I didn't play the slim as much, I think the sheer amount of games available took away from my enjoyment of each individual one and that decreased my interest in the console.

My girlfriend had the PS2 Slim and always wanted a PS2 Phat. Her Slim didn't have problems, but it was a thing of several of friends having Slims that got hot quickly and one just died.

I have the PS2 Slim, I wanted the PS2 Phat, but at the time all GameStop had were Slims which I found very odd at the time.

There got to a point here that PS2 Phat were sold out here and it was all Slim. That's when I discovered Amazon and picked up a new PS2 Phat there.
