Youtube takeover

Gaming channels are taking over youtube. Some of the biggest channels are gaming channels. Actually, the biggest channel (PewDiePie) is a gaming channel. All we're missing are some girls getting in on it to make it more exciting. There are a few like Sniperwolf and one I like is iamfallfromgrace shes decent. An up and comer.

I never would of thought people would like to watch other people gaming as much as they do. And now Im one of them.

A lot of people find interest in it. I watch gaming videos while Im eating supper usually. There are some that make watching that sort of thing entertaining.
The best gaming channels are the comedy-gaming channels. Makes it much more entertaining to watch rather then having some guy playing GTA5 talking about nothing.

I watched a playthrough of The Last of Us because I didn't have a PS3. That's all the gaming videos I have watched for a long period of time on YouTube. I will watch compilations of COD/BF4 stuff every once in a while.

I have enough trouble just learning to play the games well, let alone watch someone else do it. I have tried watching it but I found it not terribly interesting.

I only watch others playing games if the game is something I'm interested in. And if it is, I tend to only watch about 5-10 minutes.

All my YouTube subscriptions are to gamers. As I don't have great technological knowledge or the money to buy many different games, they’re an excellent resource into titles that you either don’t have, have no access to, haven’t completed, stuck with e.t.c… It’s also a great resource to compare a gamer going through a game you may have just completed yourself – to see if they had similar reactions at certain points, found secrets e.t.c…

Sure, it's a lazy way of 'gaming' (if you can call it that). I'll be first to accept that. However, it doesn't half save you some serious cash…!

Why did I start doing this instead of actually playing as much as I used to? For reasons I’ve already stated. I only have spare cash to buy around three or four games in any given year, now. I think I only bought two games in the whole of 2012. The whole online gaming business is interesting but how you actually go about it remains completely over my head of how you actually go about it. Most console games are now some sort of FPS title (a vastly oversaturated genre) of which have pretty much no interest to me. I discovered a lot of quality indie and sandbox titles via YouTube. Also, without the cash for a PS4 yet, my entire gaming experiences of the PS4 have so far come from YouTube…

The first YouTube gamer I found and subscribed to is 'AzuriteReaction' (his channel comes under 'AzuriteYT' now). He basically shares the same feelings I have over a lot of modern games and developers, and he generally sticks to much older material and some abstract Japanese games. He places some truly bizarre games now which even I struggle to get into, so I don’t really watch as much of his content as I used to though. You should listen to his rants on today's FPS games though – he's basically my double!

My favourite overall YouTube gamers have to be Markiplier and his chums. He only had around 2000 subscribers when I found him and now he’s somewhere in the region of 2.5 million. There’s not much from him that I’ve not watched simply because he seems to share very similar interests to my own at the moment. His humour can be slightly over the top these days but he's generally really decent to watch. His long running Drunk Minecraft series has had me genuinely creased with laughter before now…

For general mainstream, full-game walkthroughs you'll struggle to beat 'The RadBrad'. He's generally comprehensive and not too over the top with funny remarks or laugher (just sensible amounts). He's a really decent all-round quality commentator. I've been subscribed to him for around three, maybe three and a half years now.

Two more recent ones I've subscribed to over the last six/seven months (much smaller channels) are 'Kage848' and his friend 'FatPlanetLP'. They mainly play sandbox titles such as '7 Days To Die' – a game I really can't get enough of. Kage848 offers a similar commentary style to TheRadBrad, but goes into way more depth on the actual game he's playing. Neither often upload a video which is less than around the 25 minute mark. For those not really into the more humerous style of commentary, I highly reccomend these two also.

I've seen quite a few Pewdiepie videos as I know he's generally very highly rated. However, I just don’t like his style of videos. He's too comedic for my own tastes. I do like some comedy in videos but he takes it to a level where I personally find it too overwhelming. Markiplier, to be fair to Pewdiepie, is very slowly turning this way which is worrying as I've followed him almost from the start, but fortunately he doesn't really irritate me when he does so. Perhaps because I've watched him for so long... Prediepie just grated me more or less constantly when I used to view some of his material…!

All I know is, instead of working 3 jobs to pay for my wife's med school, I should of bought her a school girl uniform and had her open a YouTube channel.

I'd subscribe.

Only Joking.

I liked GirlGoneGamer until she stopped doing gaming videos all together. She was always more of a vloger than a gamer but she did around 3 gameplays a week followed by 3 vlogs. Then someone called her out on youtube as being fake and she decided it wasn't worth the hassle and decided to build on her vlogging fan base.

I really dislike Youtube drama because honestly, people ruin others careers or hobbies on nothing more than suspected hearsay or rumour or because of an accusation and its pretty shocking. Mud sticks.

Its just the way it is and the culture and audience of gaming are the type that they would be big into u Tube videos. Personally I don't watch the gaming videos, too many other ones that I find so much more interesting.

I watch some people play games but it's not usually the let's play guys or anything of that nature, I tend to stick to the comedy people like Critikal or similar.
I would much rather play a game myself that watch someone else do so and I can't say I care for a lot of the popular gaming youtubers because they're usually quite bland.

There is only two YouTube gamers that I have subscribed to that deserved my subscription and it was ComedyShortsGamer and KSI. Both these channels are about FIFA and are always very funny, it is not normal gameplay because if they win they get super hyper but if they lose or let the other team score a goal they get very angry and to certain extents end up breaking up something. If you have not seen any of these peoples YouTube channel you should definitely check them out and watch some of their content. I have watched PewDiePie and I was absolutely disgusted about how he gets paid the most on YouTube, he tries way too hard and the only age group that may laugh at his content may be children, now I am not a hater he makes plenty of money and that itself is very respectable.

I would simply rather play a game with my friends or alone than watch someone else playing it. I think its great that there are so many options for gamers on uTube but its just the way it is for me to not want to watch.

I have noticed a lot of gaming channels popping up on YouTube myself, and I enjoy most of them to be honest. It seems like every other day I come across a new YouTuber who's videos consist primarily of video game walkthroughs. This doesn't surprise me though especially with the popularity that Pewdiepie has been gaining.

If I am currently playing the game that is on uTube then I might watch briefly to see if I can pick something up that will help me. Clearly those gamers are way more advanced then I am so I really don't watch for long.

I like the gaming channels on Youtube. Sometimes, if i'm stuck in some part of a game, i usually look it up on Youtube to get some help. Some of the guys are funny and interesting to watch, but some of them are a pain in the ass to have to listen to. But i'm okay with Youtube having so many gaming channels. It also gives you some nice reviews about upcoming games.

Well I find most of them boring, I find PewDiePie to be boring to be honest. The gaming channel fever has a limited amount of charm on it I think. But as for me, I really love watching stupid gaming videos, especially from the guys at Inside Gaming. They're just a bunch of gamers that don't want to play the games seriously and just end up doing sh** which is more fun to watch. But then again, these gaming videos has limited charm at some point it will get boring.
