Zelda producer says he’s getting tired of the Zelda formula

Aonuma says he's getting tired of the Zelda formula | Wii U

Producer of the Legend of Zelda series, Eiji Aonuma has recently revealed that he is tired of the same old formula for the games and that it will be changed with the next game in the series. He says that their must be a delicate balance between new and old elements of the series. He hopes to keep the game true to the nature of the Zelda games but will also try and add new things to the game to keep the series fresh.

Have to say that he maybe is right.

Don't get me wrong, I love all those Zelda games. But haven't we played A Link to the past several times now, just more or less updated and extended?

Well, maybe he's tired of all the remakes that they have made throughout the years. Jellyfish said it perfectly. Probably instead of remakes, why not try to be like the Final Fantasy series instead? Square is able to churn out a lot of great Final Fantasy games that always have a different feel to that of the previous FF titles. If Square could do it, then so could Nintendo and the Zelda team.

Oh thank goodness lindbergh - I thought for a minute you were suggesting Final Fantasy Zelda edition... yeah. But seriously as long as he doesn't go too left-field then I don't care. So far I haven't seen too many incredibly sucky Zelda games and that's all I'm asking - a decent game.
