Are you buying a PS4?

I think I will get a PS4 over the new xbox this year.

Though, I am still pondering. What about you guys?

Most likely. I won't be changing to another console after spending so much money on my account. I just hope that they do something about no backwards compatibility, because i got too many games to just forget about, even more in digital form.

For sure I will. Have always preferred the PS over Xbox (even though I do really like the Xbox), and I think the new Dualshock controller looks great.

Will I be purchasing the Playstation 4? Absolutely not, at least not within the first year or two. Much like the PS3, I'm willing to bet that the PS4 will be extremely expensiveWill I be purchasing the Playstation 4? Absolutely not, at least not within the first year or two. Much like the PS3, I'm willing to bet that the PS4 will be extremely expensive, and will probably fail/overheat with the first generation of product. I'll wait a while and check out some reviews of system itself in terms of cooling/noise/response time, all that jazz.

I will definitely be purchasing a PS4. I think like most people though, I will be waiting at least a year before buying one. It's just going to be too expensive to get one right away, and although I will be hyped to get one, I think it will be worth it to wait a while. I've always preferred PlayStation over Xbox so in terms of getting one over the other, for me it's a no-brainer. :D

Yep, but not at the launch. Will wait a few months to get a decent price on it, maybe a holiday offer. Because I'm not willing to pay 400$ or something like that just to own a console that hasn't even got a wide variety of games released. Patience is the key.

I wasn't planning to buy it for a couple of months also. They always bring it out expensive and then it drops. Or you can get it in fairly good condition from sites like ebay.

There are many factors that decide if I'm going to buy the ps4. I am currently satisfied with my ps3, but if something about the ps4 is good, that would change my mind, I would get it.
If it costs approximately $400 or above, there's no way I'm going to buy it. What kinds of games will be released on ps4 launch date? Guess I'll have to wait until the release.

I will if no one will ever give me one as a present for my birthday!

Budget wise, if I have enough spare cash to buy when it is released I would get one instantly but I think its wiser to just let its price drop first and then buy one.

I'm going to buy the PS4 for sure. If it was already out I'd be playing it right now. lol I bet the price of the PS3 is really going to go down. I wonder how much the PS4 is going to be.

I'm going to hold off buying the PS4. What really put me off was that it is not going to be backward compatible with PS3 games. Might consider getting the Xbox 720, WHEN they actually decide to release some news about it. Otherwise, I'll stick with the PS3.

Yeah, I hate that it is not going to be backward compatible. Seems like another way for these companies to charge for something.

I am getting it as soon as I have the money. I have the feeling it would be closer to 600 dollars or so. I know not many of us has that much cash just laying around. But hey, it is the perfect time to start selling plasma to save up some money for the PS4.

I'm more curious if anyone plans on selling or trading in their PS3 for a PS4? I've only heard one person mention doing that. It's not supposed to have backwards compatibility with PS3 games, so I wouldn't expect many people to do that unless they really want the PS4. I know no one could pry my PS3 out of my hands.

yes i will, but i may just wait until the price drops a bit, $900 is outrageous considering the economy right now. and no backwards compatability makes me re-consider the purchase of the PS4.

I think a lot of people will wait for the price drop. Or until the people start selling theirs for less.

Also, I expect the PS3 price to drop and people may literally stock up on PS3's.

I'll buy it once the price goes down, which I always do with these consoles. It's not worth it, in my opinion, to buy it at the early stages since that's when all the hiccups are still present and the library of games still probably won't be as much anyway. I would wait for the second, more efficient version of it and just buy that instead.

That is sort of a deal breaker but I dunno, maybe they will transfer some PS3 games over to PS4 format for free? Or offer some service to do so? I remember this happening with some console in past if I am not mistaken.

I don't like the download for free option to be honest. Why have that feature when you can just have it backwards capable. Plus, it would just take up unnecessary hard drive space for you to download games you already own.

I don't think I'll ever get a PS4. My hype with new consoles has already gone down such that I am already content with playing the PS2 and its games. The best thing I can do now is to squeeze the fun out of my PS2.

I'm going to buy a PS 4 two years after its release maybe. After two years, I think the price would have gone down significantly and improvements would have already been made to the hardware. They're would be a lot more games available. But, if somebody would give me a PS 4 as a gift on its release date, then I wouldn't hesitate to accept it. That would be one of the best gifts that I would ever receive.
