Will You Stock On PS3's On PS4 Launch?

I know from the previous launch a lot of people stocked up on the "older consoles".

I think I am going to stock up on some PS3 when the PS4 launch. Then a few months to a year later I will get the PS4. What about you guys?

Just out of curiosity, why would people stock up on "older" consoles? Not having a go at all, just wanted to know :)

Do you mean buy many PS3 consoles? I'm not sure why anyone would do this unless to sell them on for more than they paid for them?

Well, i am just going to keep my PS3, because i love the damn thing! I just hope that it lasts as long as my Mega Drive (Genesis) because that thing is must have been built out of magic!

I don't see why you would "stock" on PS3 systems, they will have even less value in the future once more advancements in consoles are made.

I don't think I'll be purcahsing any more PS3's when the new PS4 comes out. I don't think the price drop will be significant on the PS3, I just think the PS4 will be very costly when it first comes out. Sadly when the PS4 does come out I don't think I'll care about the price and I'll just end up overpaying lol.

I agree with you if that is what TheViper meant.

If the other way around that stocked up meant will only play PS4 most of the time and never touches the PS3, for sure that will happen to me.

Erm, I don't really see the point of this unless you can find a really good deal on a Job lot as the price will start to drop as soon as a release date of the PS 4 is announced.
Im afraid its not the best business stratagy I have heard,
Your fired!

I think most of you guys don't realize that a lot of people have done this in the past. When a new console comes out you shouldn't expect for games to just be made for the newer consoles. You should expect a lot of the newer games coming out to also be on the PS3 because what sense would it make to just drop it? The PS3 is still a "cash cow" for Sony almost like how the PS2 was. If you remember a few games were still ported to the PS2 even though the PS3 was out for a significant amount of time.

That being said, stocking up on PS3 would be a great decision for people. As the PS3 price drops and people sell of theirs. You will find that more people will be looking to buy a PS3!!

The PS3 will be a lot cheaper around the time the PS4 is released. Sony will be looking to get rid of their stock of PS3 and may even offer bundle deals.

Sounds like a sweet deal, honestly. If I had a lot of extra money, I would totally do this. I'd wanted to have done it with the PS2 as well. Especially considering I'd still play the hell out of it if I still had one and all the games for it, and I'd want some back up for if it breaks.

I highly doubt Sony will remove the ps3 product. How many people saved up ps2's and then sold them? Not many from what I've heard.

I'm going to keep my PS3, as I keep all of my old consoles, but I won't be buying any more of them. I'm not interested in purchasing and reselling consoles to other people, if that's what you mean, as that's not really my thing (plus I don't think there's much of a market for that over here). I don't plan on my PS3 breaking or anything either; I've actually never had a console break on me, and all my systems are still working, including my NES. If my Playstation 3 does end up breaking for some reason, I'll find a way to buy another one then, but I'll only cross that bridge when I get there.

Probably for reselling?
Seems like a dumb idea, don't know why anyone would stock on ps3's.

This sounds like a good idea as you can use that as a money medium when it's in demand. It's really good if you have the capital as there would be high demand for the PS3 console in 3rd world countries, you should know that there are people who still play the PS2 right now.
