NBA 2K14 Takes Jabs at NBA Live

Taking a cue from Sony, the minds behind NBA 2K14 are enjoying the struggles that NBA LIVE having right now. By struggles I mean how much the game sucks. In an interview describing how much better the game is going to look and feel on the PS4, he pretty much stated that the 2K team are ready to finish wiping LIVE off the map.

lol nice. Im not great at sports games but the 2k series has always been the one i root for since it started on the dreamcast. I realize sega no longer owns it but its still good to see them suceeding

I almost got Live. Glad I heard about it before I got to Vegas and wasted my money. I'm still not totally happy with this year's 2K though. The MyPlayer mode seems to be getting less and less fluid each year in terms of character movement and control.

Yeah, let's not pretend like 2K was some kind of masterpiece. It had some issues but it was nowhere near the trainwreck that LIVE was. LIVE was offensively bad, and needs a lot of work to be just average. Still I enjoyed reading the needless slams that 2K was delivering, their refreshingly honest about their goals. Good for them.

At this point I don't think we need more than one version of each sports game. Give us the superior one and that is it. There haven't been two good competing sports games probably since the ESPN and Madden games in 04.

I haven't played either one of them to be honest. As I stated earlier, I am not a big fan of sports games, bu as the reviews implies, the one by 2K Games seems to be more impressive.

I have always been a fan of the 2k series because of the graphics and game play itself. Hopefully there will only be one and ONLY one company that makes sports games because it really confuses people on which one to get.

Good luck to them because I am definitely getting the 2k series on my soon to come PS4!

2K for the most part has done a pretty great job with keeping their sports games fun and current. Certainly their not as stale as the offerings that we get from EA with LIVE just being another example of why EA sports needs to stop, take a break, and rethink how they are making these games. I'm not a big sports gamer but the problems with LIVE are pretty easy to spot.
