Third-part games that deserve a sequel and/or follow-up?

A lot of games seem to fly under the radar for some reason. There are a lot of games that come out and do well, but then you never hear about them ever again. It's a shame, really, since those games have a lot of potential that should be taken advantage of.

The first game that comes to my mind is the Harry Potter Quidditch game, since it was popular and fun to play. It was kind of a sports game, too, and you didn't necessarily have to be a fan of the books and movies to enjoy it. I remember having a blast playing the game and then figuring out that I'd been playing it wrong, and then I really had fun playing it. My only complaint is that it was too short and sorta lacked in extra features.

What other games should make another appearance in the future? I'm not just talking about HD re-releases, either, but those are cool too.

Dark Cloud got a sequel, but I feel that it really should've continued as a regular series. That could be something cool for Vita.

I totally remember this game. What do you meant by you were playing it wrong? Maybe I have been playing it wrong the entire time

Yes! YES YES! Dudes Dark Cloud was the first game my besty and I played together. It's the game that I got her into and now she's almost as big of a gamer as I am.

The first Dark Cloud is a PS2 game everyone should play at least once. It's got action RPG, dungeon crawling, minor city building--it's like a prototype of Natsume's Rune Factory basically. I agree that Dark Cloud should be a Vita exclusive and probably their portable Zelda if Level-5 and Sony put time and effort behind it.

My game that should've gotten a follow up: Second Sight. I first played on a PS2 demo disc and thought "This could be a good game." Finally got it and it was. Stealth, telekinesis, all of that. I would say it should've gotten two more installments before putting it out to pasture or letting it end on a cliff hanger.

I really wanted a good sequel to The Getaway, but Black Monday being a bland linear sandbox with an unmemorable story and The Getaway 3 pretty much never coming out, I don't think there will ever be another sequel to it. If a good sequel ever did come out, I'm sure it would highly surpass McNamara's other effort, L.A. Noire.

I believe The Getaway 3 would've surpassed L.A Noire. Plus it would've been a rarity since there aren't many titles based around the London underworld.

It's a decade later, and I'm still waiting on a Rival Schools 3. :D I hope they are able to produce one this gen because from what I can tell, they seem to be having a little bit more of an easier time developing games for it. Not to mention that there has already been a hint of interest in it recently, and I'm pretty stoked about it.

For some reason I thought the broom moved forward on its own. I knew you could move left and right, but it wasn't until later that I found that you could push forward to go faster. How I was able to play like that is beyond me, but it kinda worked for a while. I really should have read the directions, though.

I can't believe that it took me this long to realize that I misspelled third-party. But I guess everyone knew what I was talking about, so it worked out after all.

There are so many great games that should've gotten sequels. I'd give PS2 launch title Evergrace another shot on PS4 as a reboot or sequel. It had potential even though it was a pretty average action RPG.

Bushido Blade should've gotten a third sequel however when Soul Edge came out the series came out that was pretty much deemed redundant.

Why didn't Bushido Blade and Brave Fencer Musashi become regular series for Square Enix? It's like they went into Capcom mode and stick with only 3 safety games (FF, DQ, and occasional KH) and publish whatever else.

They probably underperformed. It's a good reason not to continue a franchise, but not a good one to not attempt a remake/reboot. Especially when you consider that Square (minus the Enix at the time) put out stuff that could've taken up Bushido Blade and Musashi's development time. That said, Musashi did get a second game on PS2 either during the early or middle period.

You mean games like The Bouncer and Unlimited Saga (which you hate) right? That time could've definitely gone to new Bushido Blade, new Musashi, new Romancing SaGa, new Live A Live, new Mana saga game, or localizing that Japanese pro wrestling game they did.

...Unlimited Saga. I've never hated a game as much as Unlimited Saga. Square wasn't trolling or anything there, they just dropped the god damn ball.

What about Samurai Showdown? It was such a bad ass 2D versus game. I loved playing it at the arcades and on the SNES. I do hope that it gets a sequel. Also, I hope that Mosterseed will also get a followup. It was the closest thing to a Pokemon game on the PS1 and I loved every bit of it. IMO, the gameplay is even better than most Pokemon games. But I won't keep my hopes up. These games are long forgotten.
