Infamous Second Son graphics

I've played the game for a little while and I think it was the best looking video game I have ever tried. What do you think? Is it better than a maxed out PC game at all?

It looks amazing for a console, but to be honest, the PC I had two years ago was able to attain that level of detail at 1080P 60FPS without any problems. Not that I have any problem with that. That PC costed over $2000 to build back then, and would still be around $1000 today.

Gaming PC's are on their own level, and are really for gamers that wish to go beyond 1080p or 60FPS.

So far, yes InFamous is the best looking PS4 game. Killzone: Shadow Fall is a close second.

I'm looking forward to the games to come in the next few years. PS3 games looked decent when it was first released but became much much better as the years went on. I reckon the same will go here with the PS4.

Depends on your PC spec.

If you have 16GB RAM, the latest fastest 8 core processors and best graphics card it will blow a PS4 out of the water with photo realistic graphics at crazy frame rates.

It's all relative really and if you said can a £350 PC run games anywhere near the PS4 then the answer is a resounding NO.

It probably compares to a mid range gaming PC at the moment and thats due to the graphics card.

Enjoy the quality PS4 games and don't worry about the PC Master Race LOL as they always wade in about how superior their gaming rigs are compared to consoles.

What I want after a hard days work is to switch on, insert game and play.

I don't want to be updating drivers and tweaking everything to match my system.

I was a PC gamer back in the late 1990's but have always had games consoles to go along side and then when it became necessary to upgrade my PC to play the latest games I didn't bother.

Hope you enjoy it don_bidarian!

I can only comment on PS4 games as an observer at the moment (often via YouTube in HD) as I don't have one.

From what I can make out, it's about the only game that graphically looks like an improvement over the PS3. Just about everything else I've seen so far has been good don't get me wrong, but certainly no better than the latest PS3 titles in my opinion. I have already commented on this game in another thread, but it does seem very slick and fluid and I've been genuinely impressed by it.

I can't comment on the PC version. I can only suspect it'll be at least as impressive.

Honestly, youtube doesn't even do Infamous justice. Nor does it for any PS4 game.

It might be the best looking video game on a console ever, actually. But I've seen better graphics on the PC, unfortunately. However, it's good to have both gaming platforms in your house.

One thing I noticed about inFamous and Watch Dogs is that they look much much better when they are showing off night/rainy scenes than when showing sunny day scenes.

Could be due to advanced lighting and water reflection effects.

Do you guys get the same feeling?

Obviously the graphics are great. The lighting, textures, and animations are superb. But I wish the game had more replayability though. I've finished it on both good and bad and done most side missions and I'm left wanting more.

I'm currently playing as good, gonna be bad next time(the evil part seems more fun).

The problem with decision system is that it is either pure bad or pure evil, you cannot be both, which hurts how you decide.
Also it would be more interesting if you didn't know which decision can lead to good and which one can lead to evil.

This is also one of my other complaints. The karma system is very binary and there's no gray area in between. You're either Superman or Darth Vader. It'd be interesting to have takedowns and other actions that aren't so obvious.

Its a very nice looking ps4 game but it doesn't really stand toe to toe with the bigger offerings on the pc. It does look excellent as far as ps4 games are concerned. The best? Maybe.

I'm not sure about that. I've already seen better looking games like BF4 on PC or War Thunder already. But for a console, it's great looking!
