Infamous Second Son graphics

Depends on your PC spec.

If you have 16GB RAM, the latest fastest 8 core processors and best graphics card it will blow a PS4 out of the water with photo realistic graphics at crazy frame rates.

It's all relative really and if you said can a £350 PC run games anywhere near the PS4 then the answer is a resounding NO.

It probably compares to a mid range gaming PC at the moment and thats due to the graphics card.

Enjoy the quality PS4 games and don't worry about the PC Master Race LOL as they always wade in about how superior their gaming rigs are compared to consoles.

What I want after a hard days work is to switch on, insert game and play.

I don't want to be updating drivers and tweaking everything to match my system.

I was a PC gamer back in the late 1990's but have always had games consoles to go along side and then when it became necessary to upgrade my PC to play the latest games I didn't bother.

Hope you enjoy it don_bidarian!

£350 PC could easily run games better than a PS4 if you custom build. Everything else you said is spot on.

But we already know how good the console devs are at optimization, which means that we might see good looking games that don't require the best hardware.

Very true and when you think the PS3 had 256MB memory and a maximum of 230 GFLOPs CPU processor compared to the PS4 8GB GDDR5 and maximum of 1.84TFLOPs.

We even have an additional 256MB chip, (using a 2Gbit DDR3 SDRAM chip in the 2013 release) is fitted, thought to be used by the auxilliary processor.[26] An additional 256Mbit (32MB) flash memory chip is also fitted.

It's amazing just how good Infamous SS looks considering so early in the machines life cycle.

PC tech is crazy though as I was reading about a $3000 GPU at 11.5 TFLOPS - now that is power!!

This is what separates consoles from PCs. Right now a cheap pc can hang with the new consoles, but the same pc's 2 years from now won't stand a chance. Focusing on one set of hardware allows the devs to milk every last bit of power but it takes a few years into the consoles lifespan to see this truly happen.

Second Son does look great and it does make me excited to see what can be done down the road.

Best for console for sure. As the difference between PC and console. PC will always have better graphics but the more you go the more you will need a good one.

And then look at The Last of Us. It looks great, actually! There are very few PC games that achieve this performance.

I have to respectively but completely disagree with your last statement.:D Yes TLOU looks great, but there are countless PC games that achieve the same (and better) performance.
The biggest limit on PC performance depends mainly on how much you want to spend (to a certain point).

The legitimate argument resets on $$ for Performance
you can grab a used ps3 and a used copy of TLOU for about $200 or £120. A PC of the same price wouldn't stand a chance.

My PC right now will blow away anything that the PS4 will ever be able to do. The other side of that coin is that I blew a ton of money on it.

I would say best looking game as well but there is things that didnt give me that finish article. The one main thing that just didnt give me that 100% is "Reflections" I am not talking about all reflections just the ones that have a mirrored reflection. They was times when i was looking in a pane of glass and i could see the reflections behind me of a fire and hospital beds but i couldnt see myself and it was like i wasnt even there. I even went to the fire to see if i could see myself in the reflective objects and i couldnt.

But i think i am just being picky on what is an astonishing looking game hope things will get better

I noticed this as well, but its beyond just not seeing Deslin in the reflection. Sometimes the reflection does not match what it is reflecting at all, or even close. I am talking different buildings, or buildings missing (those concrete cone towers).

I've watched the trailer and I thought the game looked awesome. But on the PC part, that level of detail isn't really that big of a deal. I had my PC for almost three years now and I've seen that kind of beauty several times before, although there's a price that came with it.

I've played the game for a little while and I think it was the best looking video game I have ever tried. What do you think? Is it better than a maxed out PC game at all?

Well the reality is no console will ever look as good as a really High end PC, thats just the truth, the reason being if the graphics on my PC suck or can't handle a specific game, all you have to do is buy an upgraded graphics card, relatively cheaply, the consoles however will stay static until the next generation of consoles 10 years down the line...
