I need a bit of info...

I recently purchased a ps4 from someone off craigslist. The system is barely used and it's great. I've been a playstation guy for 21 years. However I am on a bit of a learning curve with this. First question is: call of duty ghost is on the hard drive and I can play it, however it is still asking me to buy it? Also I can play online though I have not started a plus trial yet or purchased one. How is this possible? One final note I can't seem to delete th previous user from the system?

Thanks in advance!

Brad

Hi Brad,

1. For the CoD Ghosts on your system, I believe it must be linked with the previous person's PSN account, hence if you log in with yours, you have to purchase it again, as with your PSN account it is not yet purchased.

2. I have no idea, but some other guy also had same experience which kept us wondering, although after a while his online ability was cut.

3. I dont remember where exactly(I'm at work right now) but in the setting menu I think there is an option for managing users. Although restoring to default setting is always an option ;)

You may just want to restore your Ps4 to make it yours. Get it back to default settings and make it your own. You can find all that in the settings, you may have to update your Ps4 again after restoring (<-I'm not entirely sure of this)

That sounds like a good idea but will I lose call of duty? I can play it now it just still lights up with 59.99 lol

Pretty sure you'll lose CoD, but hey a fresh start is a good start. IMO if you still are enjoying the current state of your Ps4 then go and indulge more, just restore when you want/need to.

Just to clarify.

You can play the game (including online) but it is still asking you to buy the normal game? Not just pushing a bunch of DLC or something?

Yeah the game is on my home screen and when I click it, it says play, review, 59.99. I can play it and play online on my account (my psn). His old account is locked out. I just think it is sort of strange.

It sounds like the previous owner of the PS4 had purchased Ghosts and a Playstation plus subscription, and you are just playing on his at the moment. I would recommend restoring your PS4, you will lose everything installed, but they aren't yours anyway really.

Strange that you can play it, even if it's installed to the HD it should still be linked to his account...
Try waiting for a little more time to see if it locks you out, maybe it's just some sort of trial period.
If it does then reset it back to default.

If it were me, I would restore the system. You will (might?) lose CoD, but you will be safer because of it. He should have restored it before selling it to you--he is an asshole. The game is pretty cheap now, isn't it? I think it is about $40 on Amazon. Also his is credit card info stored on the system O_O?

His account is locked out and all. I will just restore though he included the game in the price

Well you can do as you will, I would just feel really nervous buying something off someone and not restoring it to factory settings. But I am a paranoid guy. (Example: every password to every website I use has a different string of numbers and lettings and symbols.)
