Can we please get a background change!?!?

I'm not trying to complain so much but I'm pretty much SICK of the blue background. We are a NEXT GEN GAMING SYSTEM. One little measly update could change the aspects of the system entirely. Allowing us to change the background could be a minor, but highly practical fix. We should be able to have customization themes, with different types of icons and fonts (maybe). Just saying, it could make a huge difference.

A lot, actually. I got my PS4 for a more social experience, meaning I typically sit in parties and talk with my friends. Since I just got my PS4, I don't have many games to play and the ones that I do get tiring after a while. I think maybe I just need Mass Effect to be released on NextGen (talking to you, Bioware and EA) but until then, I will spend a lot of my time in parties and shifting between games on the dashboard. The blue is just so bright and alluring. Perhaps something darker?

While I dont spend much time in the Dashboard and overall I hate the design, I agree that we MUST have the option to customize.

Yes, this was one of the things I frowned upon the very first time when I bought the PS4. PS3 has themes that we can change and background pictures we can choose ourselves. I think Sony was rushing to get the PS4 out to the market which is why the UI is so simplistic and lacked so many options.

I feel the PS4 was a little rushed out just to beat the Xbox One, so a lot of basic features were not added to beat the competitor to launch.

That would make the console more "personal". Customization is a good thing, hopefully Sony will include it one of the upcoming software updates.

While I dont think its a big deal I am puzzled as to why Sony didnt include customizations like themes.wallpapers etc on day one,or even after,but still we have nothing.
Did the PS3 have it day 1? I cant remember.
Perhaps it will come in a future software update.

Wait. So when you are sitting in parties and chatting, you just... sit at the dashboard? You do not do something on the computer or laptop? Watch a film, Netflix (not even sure if this is possible while chatting?). I tend to sit in parties as well, but I am never just staring at the dashboard flipping through my games library and what not. Change the input! While I think we can all agree that there needs to be some sort of customization option for the dashboard, the problem you are describing can easily be remedied by yourself.

You are probably correct. In their attempt to add new features such as Facebook photo integration and real name shenanigans, they forgot the most basic of things. They should eventually give us some form of customization, I mean... it makes sense and a lot of people want it. Sony is usually pretty good at giving us what we want, just not when we want it.

i agree 100% A different dashboard color after this long would be a good change.
