Anyone switch from Xbox One to PS4 here?

I am new here and in the process of making the switch from Xbox One to PS4. I have my PS4 already ordered, X1 on sale on Ebay and even preordered some games like Metro Redux. Things will probably overlap and I will have both at the same time.

I have had my Xbox One since since Day One and honestly a lot of things that made me choose the Xbox One over the PS4 are gone for me. I always figured the PS4 is a better overall "gaming" unit, but the Xbox One did a lot more so thats what I got.

Some of the reasons I choose the Xbox One was kinect looked sweet in all the demos, tv features/giude, snap windows, apps and everything all in one. Of course games and online multiplayer are a big reason too.

As of today, months later, I stopped using kinect due to no games and lots of problems, the TV guide and controls are OK but not all I thought they would be so I don't really use them anymore, snap windows I use a little but not enough to really care if it is there or not, apps are still nice but some are hard to use with the controller so I usually end up just using the ones in my TV or TiVo instead.

So now I use it only for games which takes away a lot of reasons I first bought it. The PS4 seems to have a edge for just games, so that's why I am switching.

The only draw back to the PS4 at this point is there simply are not that many AAA titles that were specifically made for it. Infamous is probably the best PS4 only game out there, and it really shows the power of the PS4, but nothing else has really gotten to that point yet.

Also, games that use Xbox as the lead tend to have frame-rate issues on PS4. COD Ghosts for example runs like crap on the PS4, and has since release day because Activision only cares about how it runs on the Xbox.

The good news for PS4 is there are a lot of games on the way. Destiny stands out as one of the must have games for PS4.

Yeah if you're looking for games PS4 is the must have console. It has the better specs, the better aesthetic design, and runs games better. Xbox One had potential with their all in one entertainment approach, but its implementation was wonky. Their ideas had potential but they screwed themselves over with their PR blunders last year and their higher initial price. They seem to be shying away from the Kinect centered approach now.

I have coming with my PS4, Second Son and Killzone. I also preordered Metro Redux and I want to get The Last of Us as soon as I can afford it.

I am still debating on preordering Destiny, Mortal Combat X and Batman.

I've never tried the XBox one or PS4 though, but since I've had the PS1, 2 and 3, I'm pretty sure I'll stick with Playstation when it comes to the 4. I don't see a reason to go to Xbox really.

I just purchased both systems when they came out. I like what both consoles offer, but really, I just don't like missing out on exclusives. I actually like the Xbox One a little bit more, but that's purely a personal preference. You could easily argue for the PS4 and not be wrong at all. I love both consoles, and you'll see me playing a few hours each week on both of them. That's not going to change anytime soon. I do know people who have switched over from the One, though.

I have never had a Playstation at all, always been Xbox. The PS4 will be my first and its going to be interesting as everything will be new and fresh to me. I am a little worried about the controller though as I am so used to the Xbox style.

I will have both systems this week and unless I am really not happy with the PS4, I will leave the Xbox One on Ebay and sell it to pay for the PS4.

I will have both this week and I can scrape by and cut back a little and not have to sell the Xbox One to pay for the PS4, but not sure what I will do yet. A lot depends on how much I like the PS4.

Honestly, it's not that big of a change. Yeah, it'll feel weird but after a couple of hours you'll feel that it's not that big of a deal. I play my Xbox 360 and PS4 equally and it doesn't take me more than a couple of minutes to get readjusted to the thumbstick placement. This is just my personal experience, but yeah. I find the PS community is a lot better than the Xbox Live community.

I've never been an Xbox fan. Maybe I'll see what it has the offer. It's a shame the ps4 me hooked permanently !!! Haha

The Xbox One is a nice machine don't get me wrong on why I am thinking of switching over to the PS4. It's just trying to be so much more than a gaming machine and IMO only doing it soso that it takes away from the experience.

It is almost like MS figured it could not beat Sony head to head on just games, so it threw in the everything and the kitchen sink.

My PS4 should be here Tuesday and I can't wait to try it.

I owned a XB1 and traded my in for a PS4. Xbox has some pretty cool features and even the Kinect was making improvements. Like the other post though PS4 is more of a gaming machine with better graphics. Xbox has the AAA exclusives now, but with PS4's install base, developers will start making games for them. My oldest some told me to play The Last of us Remastered and the game and graphics are amazing and couldn't be done on the Xbox.

Yes, I did switch from the Xbox One to the PS4 although I still have both consoles I prefer to play more on my PS4 since it has a lot more good games compared to the Xbox One, or at least as I see it.

I'm in the same boat as Sly14Cat. I've had all three Playstations back to back and will be getting the PS4 when the price is right.

I have an old friend who has an Xbox One. He had the 360 prior to that and the only reason why he's stayed with Microsoft, or so he claims anyway, is because he'd loose all his online scores/trophies – or whatever. I don't 'do' online gaming (as things stand, at least), so I don’t really know what he means by that.

He had the PS1 and PS2 with me but moved over to Microsoft shortly after the PS3 was launched. I got the PS3, he hesitated for a while and then went for the 360 – and basically that was about it with regards to our 'gaming friendship'. We'd gamed together from about the age of four until that point... He says both the Xbox One and PS4 are great consoles but has baulked at least twice when I've told him I'm perfectly happy to stick with Sony when the time comes for me to upgrade to the PS4… Make of that what you will…

I did not really do much besides hook it up, do the software update and install the games.

I fooled around with the main screens seeing what all was there. Tonight will be the fun night.
