What was the last movie you watched?

The Blob (1988) - 6/10

Was decent. For it's time it has some amazing special effects that still hold up today I feel. Was impressed in that department. Aside from that everything was ok. Not great but still a good "dumb-fun" film to watch on a Friday night :)

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - 8/10

Really loved this film. It's really one of those "little-big" movies. Everything about was just fantastic. Story, characters, and the landscape - beautiful! Odd thing is I really related to it. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. But yeah. Would love to watch this annually! Highly recommended!

Joe - 8/10

I have always had a soft spot for Nicolas Cage. I loved his movies in the 90's (who doesn't love Con Air!) but since the mid-2000's - well, you know. Things just went bad for him movie-wise. Happy to say though he was excellent in this. Best performance I've seen from him in a long time. As for the movie itself, it was also excellent. But the one thing that I was let down about is how I didn't feel satisfaction at the end. Without spoiling anything, I just wanted more "revenge". That's all I'll say. I've heard this has been sharing similarities with "Mud" which I'm yet to see, but might have to after seeing this. Recommended!

the second one didnt have very many action seens

I agree, not many action scenes. In the first one you had the lab, then you had the house, after that it was the zoo, then it was the city. A lot of movement in the movie. In this one you had the post-apocalyptic dark city and the jungle. That was it. It was mostly based on Caesar making friends with the humans and getting rid of Koba.

Ping Pong Summer

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2402985/

Set in 1985,tries to capture that 80's feeling similar to The Way Way Back (excellent movie) where a young teen and parents go holiday, meet's girl, has some trouble with a few other 'bullies' etc.
Its a little to cheesy (not in a good way) and much of the acting is a little crap but Ill give it an A for effort.
Could have been so much better.

I rally wanted to like this but I just cant give it more than a generous 5/10. Average.

Eraserhead - -/10

Can't give it a rating. Even had to leave the room 5 minutes before it ended. All I can say is this gif which explains it all:

Have you see any other Lynch films?

I watched two films last night:

Philadelphia (1993) - 3.5/5
Prince Avalanche (2013) - 3.5/5

Prince Avalanche (2013) - 3.5/5

Ah yes,Ive seen that one.Talk about a pointless movie, its just 2 guys talking about their lives while doing roadworks in remote locations.
As stupid as it sounds I watched it all the way through and for some reason I thought it was still OK.
I do like Paul Rudd though in movies so that's a plus.

I would rate it a 5/10

Obviously (points to avatar picture) I love Twin Peaks. But the only films I've seen from him are Mulholland Drive which was excellent. Seen "Inland Empire" and didn't think much of it. Aside from them two and Eraserhead, that's it. One day I'll see "Blue Velvet"

X-Men: Days of Future Past - 8.5/10

Awesome movie. Had a feeling it was going to be good but not this good! Highlight for me? Quicksilver. Might get some hate from that but I really wish he was in the movie a lot more. Absolutely stole the show for me. Here's hoping he will have a bigger part in X-Men: Apocalypse! Everything else was top notch. One of the best films this year. Highly recommended.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

I enjoyed it.Those Sentinel fight scenes were pretty cool too.
And Raven/Mystique (this time played by Jennifer Lawrence) was um...easy on the eyes too :grin

8/10 from me.

-------

Haze: You will see Quicksilver again.Dunno if in any future X-Men movie but you will see him in Avengers: The Age of Ultron.

However in this X-Men movie Quicksilver was played by Evan Peters who played one of Kick Ass's mates in Kick Ass.
Weird thing is,Quicksilver in Avengers Age of Ultron will be played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson who actually played Kick Ass..in the Kick Ass movie..lol

Yeah I knew about there being two versions of Quicksilver, although I doubt the Avengers version will be as funny and great as X-Men's.

Divergent

I don't think it's as bad as many of the user reviews at IMDB.

6.5/10 from me.

Anything under a 7.5 is pretty low in my book.

The People Under the Stairs (1991) - 3/5

While surprisingly engaging and fun, conventions ultimately muffle the experience. It is still worth your time if the horror genre is your thing, but expect to be mildly disappointed.

You should see the user reviews at IMDB.Many are 1's and 2's with a few at 5.

Me scoring it at a 6.5 means it's still above average and worth a watch. But not a purchase.

Update. I just watched Lucy last night. The movie wasn't bad- to be honest- but i felt like there were some things in the movie that seemed kind of stupid to me. I don't want to comment too much on it because i know some of you haven't seen it yet- but i'll tell you something- it seems that reaching 100% of your brain's capacity is not fun at all. At least that's what it looked like to me.
