Try the free 20th Playstation anniversary theme.
As well as on PS4 it's also out on PS3 and Vita.

Yeah I tried looking for the PS3 version as I got it for the PS Vita and PS4, but nothing for the PS3.
Also agree it's a little too bright. Hard to see some text up top. I've just got the default blue. Wish they would bring out more. But hey, I'd rather see notifications when your friends appear online first.

As for OP's post. Yes. Yes it does look like Windows 8. Unfortunately, seems that's the way its going. But luckily you can change the theme. This feature was only added like 3 weeks ago? So it's going to take a little bit of time to get some good quality themes out there.
Side thought. There were some good independent PS3 theme sites out there. Anyone know if there's any out there yet for PS4?

I have a suggestion, might be useful, thats what I do anyway:
Once the PS4 turned on jump into the game, dont browse around, that way you dont have to deal with the almost crappy interface.

I have mine set to dark blue, i don't spend much time looking at it so the lack of themes and the look of it is of little consequence to me.

There are a few free and pay themes on the PSN store.
And I believe a few sites out there are also working on making PS4 themes too.

Oh hell yeah. You can find some really creative dynamic themes out there for the PS3. I have a whole slew of them on mine now. This is the site I think I used (been a while
). I hope customized by user PS4 themes are not far behind or if Sony is going to close it off.http://www.ps3-themes.com/

I never really care about the themes. It is not like I am spending a lot of time using the PS4 interface, it is simply a tool to load my games. I do find it to be aesthetically pleasing and simple and functional.
