As a gamer in his mid thirties, i remember the oldies such as Manic Miner, Paperboy and Target Renegade. Any memories of old games anyone?

Gyromite! First memory of a game where you put your trust at the hands of your friends just to have them end your life. Paperboy was great too.

Loved contra and reg mario . Oh metroid was the sh.t as well. Fav would be ninja gaiden for reg Nintendo

My first proper console, it saved me a fortune as i used to feed the pub coin-op many pounds a week playing Defender.

I remember the Atari console, very well :)

I also remember when my father came home with a console similar to this:

I was like 10 years old...

When I had the Hanimex console and most had the Atari 2600 one of my friends had the Intellivision console.
First time I actually heard some synthesized speech, was only a word here and there and quite scratchy sounding but I was amazed at the time. :p

Oh man. I'm 28 now, but my first console was the NES when I was 6. I remember it like it was yesterday. Christmas of 92 I believe. I was a mere little one still pooping my pants in kindergarten. It was a simpler time for a child. I would go to school for a few hours and play in the sandbox, learn my ABCs and write with an overly large pencil. It was a brisk Christmas morning. Lots of presents under the tree. Me and my brother grabbed this one box. Heavy it was. We tore through the wrapping paper with excitement like a teenager ripping the condom wrapper the first time he's about to get laid. Except this was better. It was a Nintendo Entertainment System. Oh how elated we were. It came with the console, 2 controllers (never see that anymore), Duckhunt/Super Mario Brothers and a Zapper. Our parents hooked it up to our 1982 Zenith television, where you had knobs to adjust the color. We popped in the cartridge and played for hours. That day, was the day I became a gamer. 22 years later, I stopped pooping my pants (unless I eat hot wings and I'm drunk) but I still have that gleefulness whenever I get a new game or console.

I have similar memories. Had a few consoles over the years. I gave Street Fighter 2, Super Mario Kart and Gunstar Heroes many many hours of my time.
