Signing in to PSN... PS4 Remote Play application issues

Hi all,

I have recently got myself a PS4 which works fine and signs into PSN great. The PlayStation app also works great and the remote power options and second screen also works great.

But whenever i try to start the PS4 Remote Play app it just sticks on the signing in screen. The little circle just spins away in the middle of the screen of my Z2 seemingly doing nothing about actually signing me in.

When i first attempt to sign in the app exits to the chrome browser app and prompts for me to input my credentials, which is what i do and then after signing in it goes back to the PS4 Remote Play app and just sits there spinning the little circle fustratingly what seems like forever.

Any help would be much appreciated all.

My Z2 is on 4.4.4
PS4 is on 2.50
Ive used a BT Home Hub as well as a TP Link on 2 different Internet connections.
I have UPnP activated in both routers
I have added the PS4 to DMZ

Below is a screen shot of the ''Signing in to PSN...'' issue. I haven't even started to think about remote play outside of the house, i just want it working within the house.

Hey there and sorry to hear that.
I have to start right away with I do not know what this is and I did not experience it myself

BUT what I experienced in my work and private life is that PS (especially PS4) does not like an active UPnP.
Sony takes too much time to transfer the information the game needs (especially fast games like FIFA are sensitive to this). UPnP shots down because no information is coming through and game loses its connection.

I am not sure if this applies here but it does apply to many games so maybe just give it a go and deactivate UPnP and see what happens?

Hi, Thanks alot for the reply. I will try to disable UPnP and see what happens. Interestingly the remote play will not logon to PSN at work either so it cant be my home connection specific.

Any other ideas peeps?

OK so now my woes have got worse!!!

The PlayStation App is now giving me an error when i try to login after deleting it and readding it.



Ive read that this only happens on rooted devices but my Z2 is completely standard/vanilla and always has been. Please some help would be much appreciated right now

Yes bud, i have completed all troubleshooting and still no luck. Ive even resorted to phoning PlayStation Support and they said they had not heard of the error and had to escalate my case to head office. Ive had to send and email and screen shots to them....

Hi,

I have worked out the issue to this problem. If i install the pre 14/04/15 release then i can sign in fine. Its the new version of the application that is causing this issue.

I am also having an issue with the remote play which i am sure is part of the same issue.

Playstation, do you have an answer?
