PS4 records last 15 minutes of gameplay

First, I hear about the last 5 minutes of recording for the Xbox One, and now this? I'm not really too sure about the 15 minutes, but it was confirmed by a spokesperson, so I believe it's the right number. Anyways, the ability to record games and show off your fails, epic kills, or anything else is really cool. Hopefully, I'll be seeing some tutorials, or just great videos once the PS4/Xb1 comes out. Pretty great feature that they implemented.

PlayStation 4 will continually record 15 minutes of gameplay data in the background for users to capture and publish online, a spokesperson for the company has confirmed to CVG.

Well 15 minutes is quite a lot of time to record.
It's kind of cool to see them giving the option for some games unless it's actually for all games. Can't wait to get more information about this recording stuff.

Well, that would come in handy. But isn't there an option to record more than 15 minutes of gameplay? I do hope so since if you would be recording something to make a video review, you would need to record more than just 15 minutes of one section. I'd like to hear more on this feature.

I suppose that this is alright, it could let enthusiast gaming journalists make some simple videos. But I think that anyone is serious about this sort of stuff already has a capture card so it's nothing really groundbreaking to me. But hey, it's in there for no extra cost so that's always good.

Can't wait to try out this feature!
share some of my greatest, and worst moments in game. lol

I just hope it will not be hard to use this feature, like will we have to sign up on a site before we can use it/ upload videos. etc.

This is honestly one of the features I'm most excited about. It'll be great to be able to record nice chunks of footage without the need for a capture card. Definitely a neat feature for people who want to get into the realm of Let's Plays for sure, or just make little videos about games in general.

Great news to see that the PS4 will be able to record up to 15 minutes of gameplay. As so many gamers record playthrough's of games, 15 minutes will surely be the perfect amount of time. I also agree that Sony now has another advantage over Microsoft as the Xbox One will only be able to record 5 minutes of gameplay. It may not seem like much, but 10 minutes is a big difference when it comes to recording gameplay.

On the face of it, it's a great idea, I just hope that the internet doesn't become flooded with pathetic footage. It will become flooded with my awesome footage! It's a clever idea and I like the fact that Sony are thinking outside the box, the fact that they stamp Microsoft into the ground is just a happy coincidence. I look forward to see the details of the recordings...

Wow 15 minutes of recording? Thats alot of time and is going to be a great feature for the PS4. Certainly alot better than 5 minutes that the Xbox One will do!

15 minutes is the perfect amount, xbox and its 5 minutes can shove it haha

Agreed. 15 minutes will be the surest way of capturing a good moment. Honestly, I'm not one to want to record my games anyway but I'll have to wait and get to use the new feature to know how I feel about it, but it does seem like a pretty cool addition. Not to mention it speaks loads on the power of the new console if it plans on automatically recording in high definition every last fifteen minutes of every gameplay.

Amazing! I just heard that Xbox One only records last 5 minutes of playroom. It seems as though PS4 is outperforming Xbox One in every manner possible, be it price, hardware capabilities or winning over fanbase. PS4 FTW!

I guess this is cool for people who care! lol

Though you'd need to capture the data right away lest it be lost once 15 minutes is up. Seems kind of tedious, but eh, I don't really care.

The question now is, how is the video quality? Will we be able to customize it? Can we just import the video to a PC or to a USB device, or is it directly to Youtube? Either way, i guess that is a nice feature to have.

I think the vid quality will be good, but I also think it will be very time consuming downloading/uploading it.
