Transferring Save Data from game

Just got my ps5 yesterday, transferred data from ps4 to ps5. Trying to play dying light 2 and I downloaded both the ps4 and ps5 version onto the console. When I use the ps4 copy my previous save data works fine but when I use the ps5 copy it wants me to start a new campaign. I would prefer to use the ps5 optimized copy but I can’t seem to figure out how to carry the save data.

Each version is a "new license." Not many games are gonna be "cross-gen" compatibility.
