My brother didn't have to replace any. Neither did my good friend. They're still on their original consoles, fortunately. Although I do remember one time my buddy got very tilted when his PS3 froze at the exact wrong moment.

That's kind of a frightening proposition. I would hope that "Matrix level virtual reality" doesn't actually end up existing, because you would end up with many people who would rather live in that world than the real one. I think it would become too addicting...

That actually sounds pretty convenient, download/installation looks like it's going to be taking up a lot of time in the new generation of consoles. A very practical way to speed up that process.

I would disagree completely on Mario. The power up system didn't actually disappear at all, most of the enemies and objects interacted the same way (kill the goomba by jumping on them, pop the block with your head, don't stand under the thwomps), and the coin collection system was (relatively)...

I don't think it's wise of them to have their launch date so soon after the PS4. People who would want both systems would obviously get whichever was available first, leaving them with a lot less money with which to buy the other. Then again, their hands were probably tied. I think they have...

I wouldn't put everyone under that umbrella. Without party-based gaming Nintendo wouldn't be making nearly as much money. Me and my buddies play 3 or 4 player games of NHL13 all the time!

Money. Cheaper mobile/handheld gaming is widely accessible. Plus even if I'm saving up enough money for a gaming purchase it's going to be a home console.

They've done a lot with the character, that's for sure. I think there is a little bit of both sides that are true; the 2D side-scrolling is getting a little played out, but you go and play Super Mario Galaxy and it's such an amazing world to be a part of. Hopefully they have more groundbreaking...

The setting is really quite beautiful. I'm fond of the ship elements that they are introducing, where you can upgrade your ship and use a spyglass to spot others. Historically they've always hit the aesthetic nail on the head, so I'm really pumped to play.

Did you ever get to check out PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale? Basically it's the Sony Smash Bros. I played the demo and the game play was very hectic and fun.

22 million?? That's an absolutely monstrous database. I wouldn't use it in-game much because the game's own music and sound is important, but I can see using it for racing games for sure. Yet another next-gen refinement has me salivating...

Agreed on The Last of Us. It makes Heavy Rain's facial expressions look cheesy and videogame-y. It's the pinnacle of human facial modeling thus far.
