4K TV upscale vs 1080p for PS4

I have a question regarding if the expensive 4K upscale can improve the quality of the graphics for a PS4 playing games. Will it look better than a 1080p TV?

I am in the market for a new TV and want to buy a new 4K for strict PS4 gaming but am hesitant because of the price tag. Will the 4K be better for my PS4 in the future? What if PS4 upgrades the software via update and the upscale to 4k becomes better. Is this possible?

The PS4 will not support 4K games. IF you buy a 4K tv right now you are going to over pay big time because of it being new technology. Besides what does support 4K right now? TV and HD satellite receivers only support 1080i and I don't see that changing anytime in the next 10 years. I read something about Netflix but you would need killer internet speeds and pretty much unlimited download as I believe a movie is somewhere in the Terabyte range. Can your internet do a TB in 90 minutes? So basically you are left with a fancy new DVD player and the fun of starting your collection of movies over again for the 4th time in just over 15 years. wasn't it just about 3 years ago when everybody went out and bought a 3D tv? Hows that going? Wait and you will be a lot happier in the end.

Unless you are going over 60" 4K will not have any effect at all.
There is not much 4K content available anyway, so paying for 4K is a waste of money at this point.
Get a regular LED for now. In 5~6 years convert to OLED 4k bendable TV for the same price ;)

I read the PS4 will be able to stream 4k through services like Netflix and Hulu... But is 4k gaming a possibility on PS4?

Real shame... But as you guys mentioned 4k is still in its embryonic stages... It'll be a while until it becomes relevant.

I agree with everyone. 4K is irrelevant right now. There is no support for it.

On a personal note. I would not purchase a 4K television anyway. 1080p suits my needs just fine. I bought my HDTV last year, and i am not updating anytime soon.

I honestly do not know how it is possible to improve on 1080p. It is virtually flawless. 4K is only good if you have a movie theater in your home. Considering the amount of storage it takes to store the media. I doubt it will prosper. I am sure they will be extremely expensive.

That is why i am not even considering 4K at this point. Good luck to you though.
