Any chance for ultra HD

So much talk avout 1440p gaming being the new standard on PC anyone know if PS4 will/can do this with games in the future.

I severely doubt it honestly.. The PS4 was years behind the PC at release and there is nothing that will CHANGE that fact. Alas, 720p/1080p will be here for quite a while longer.

I think it might come on the PS"5", but not right now. There are hardly any HDTV's that even support it, many people still do not even have 1080p, a lot of HDTV's being sold are still 720p.

Think a lot of players (not just me) actually play on a monitor same one I use for my pc games in my game room AKA nerd cave

Considering we haven't seen a game where all of the PS4s power is used its perhaps in the realm of possibilities for small games or indie titles. However I don't see any AAA titles going the Ultra HD route. I think developers need to focus on making it a standard 1080p and 60 FPS and then perhaps focus on getting more visually impressive.

The console is definitely capable of it and I heard that Sony is wanting to do it. Will it be successfully done this generation? I doubt it unless there is a quick and massive adoption of UHD TVs in the next few years. Think about it this way. Most people just have adopted HDTVs within the last couple years. HDTV has been available to the public a little more than 10 years. That was one and a half console generations for majority adoption. Now the new technology is just starting to come out with a hefty price tag. I wish I had 3000 bucks for a UHD TV but the vast majority don't (and it's pointless since there's no content right now). It will take probably a good 5-8 years for UHD to be adopted widely and affordably and by that time, the next console generation will be coming out or in the very late stages of development.

What I do see is this generation, a couple studios will dabble in UHD games, but most of us won't appreciate it since we have only HDTV and it will be abandoned. Like 3D games last generation :)

4K TV's are coming down in price very quickly. I can get a 4K Vizio which is a very good TV, 50" for just under $2000 CDN. These prices will only keep going down. Netflix has a few UHD shows, like House of Cards.
