Assassin's Creed Syndicate announced!

There are less buildings you can go into know, that was something that was neat and cool about Unity. The grappling hook is a great addition and makes it fun, more like batman know, I jump in for a kill and grapple out again quickly. Really enjoying this game the more I play. Much simpler upgrade path as well.

I still wish you could play multiple games like previous games before Unity, looks like if you want to start over you have to erase again which is really dumb.

I just started the game too and played it for 10 hours or so. I found it very amusing, expecially because you can swap between Jacob and Evie and play with them singurally. Much better than Unity, no doubts. I miss the multiplayer sessions though, which were very amusing as well.

Yes I agree. The only way is to save one game on a USB key and play it when you want.

This is a game I will be replaying, had a lot of fun with it. I beat the main story yesterday. Not sure if this only opened when I beat the game or if I just did not notice it before, but there is a portal you go into and you are brought into Churchill's day as Evie. Some story there, some fun machine gunning German planes, London Bridge and more of the Tower of London. Smaller map, but seems like a nice added bonus.

Not really sure why the bother with the whole Animus thing anymore. With the death of Desmond it really just became "meh". Would be just as fine planning Assassins over the different periods who are searching for these items to get them away from the Templars, not really needed unless they plan on doing a lot more with the "modern" day Assassins.

They pushed the Animus inside just to give a sense of continuity to the whole game, I bet. To be honest, I think that the Animus lost his meaning with Black Flag already. But, all in all, it's still a nice game to play. The combat arenas are really amusing.

I agree, though at least in Black Flag there was something to do outside the Animus, was a bit interesting to roam around the building and do those little missions.

Still wish there was a bit more options with the weapons like Black Flag and all the games previous, would love to select the weapon I wanted to fight with, be it my fists or a blade.

Yes, me too. The weapons are limited, it's true, but the combat system has improved considerably and now we can call it a challenge, expecially with higher enemies levels. I love the chance to play as Jacob and as Evie anyway.

I thought it was more challenging at first, but I quickly levelled up as I was doing all the burrow missions, taking control away from the blighters. Once I was level 7 it got very easy. At level 10, well rarely a challenge, still fun to be an ass kicker though.

I don't mind that there are less weapons compared to unity and previous, as it makes sense with this time period, no one was walking around with swords on their hips or rifles on their back, would just love to choose how I want to fight. I remember just using the assassin blade in previous games, or fists when I wanted, was nice to have the option.

I see your point now. If you use the Kukris blade, ain't it like using the hidden blade? I mean, the moves should be the same.

No, and not really about that, the point is that we do not have a choice, melee or shooting, no choice for which melee weapon we use, or hand to hand. Not a big deal, the game is still fun, but I did like that option in the past.

Okay. I've finished this game, played it all till the end and also got the Platinum.

Not a big deal, imo.

What's new from older AC games:

1) The hook: Nice, I believe I am Batman now! :grin
2) Combat system: See point 1)
3) Character swap: This is quite cool, I admit :Onya
4) Carriages: Unreal and very difficult to drive

Nothing more... there is nothing really new in this game, no innovations, nothing so exciting, nothing which hasn't been tried before. There is no multiplayer and the game is full of bugs. My opinion is that they just did it for marketing purposes and put it on the market for 70 Euros (EU price). If you want to play it, buy it used for 20 Euros, it doesn't worth more.

My vote: 5/10

I agree with you on some, and not on others. I really like this game and would recommend buying it full price. It is a fun open world, beautiful made. Still a bit glitchy, but nothing compared to Unity.

I do love the hook and the fighting... once I got used to it. The hook really changes how you play and any previous game would feel a lot slower I think without it.

I don't mind the carriages, the only thing I really do with them get point A to point B faster.

I do not miss multiplayer as it is not something I ever played before, feels like a solo play game to me. While it is not so different then the last, and did not offer up anything as unique and new to the series as Black Flag, it is still a very fun game. I do wish they would continue with a set of characters for a few games like they did with Ezio. Would be cool if they expanded on a city or country rather then new places every game. I would actually love if they went back to the original, imagine the first Assassins creed but with all the updates to game play and graphics. Would be cool to revisit the region.

Do you remember Ezio and his bomb crafting? Or when he had to recruit new assassins, to train them by sending them to missions, and he could call them back to help him during his actions against enemies? Leonardo and his flying machines? The "dancers" that he could surround with in order to hide and eventually send them to distract and kill victims with poison? Remember Connor with his rope darts? We had a full range of ways to face our kills, it was really creative and fun. Where are such innovative features? Why did they remove them? With Unity & Syndicate everything has been lost, the conceipt of "creed" has been lost. I am not saying that it was not fun, but just that they could put a bit of passion in their game, like they did in the past. :D

I did like the recruiting of assassins and using them. Though, by the end of the game with my assassins all levelled up, I really did not need to fight anymore, just called in my assassins and it was over with. The other things you mentioned were good in their time, but got old fast. That is the one problem with Assassins creed, it can get repetitive.

I do not remember being able to send dancers to kill anyone with poison... maybe I missed that option or it has been to long since I played it. You still have the poison darts, which I love using and watching as they go nuts.

They definitely lost the original story for the game. I was always hoping for more and more outside the animus. Now it is just a bit of story about the pieces of eden to keep it going and let there be some supernatural element to the game. Things have come and gone in the series, I really liked hunting in Assassins Creed 3. Again, I would like them to build on a certain area, that may be part of the problem. Each new game now is a whole new area so a lot of time is spent just on that alone... and it looks great, but I can't even imagine the work that goes into creating such a detailed city. How many games were there with Ezio? 3 or 4 I think, and they got better and better with new features in each game. Since then every game is a new location, America, Caribbean, France, England.

With Ezio were three games: AC2, AC2 Brotherhood and AC Revelations. All three settled in Italy, during the Renaissance.

Yes, and the last one in Turkey. Was fun to continue one with one character and watch as he developed and grows. I think the new games need to take a lesson from the old in that regard. Build on some characters, not just some slight references to old characters.

Yes, Aldair was the protagonist. I have never played it because I discovered AC with Ezio.
I hope the same as yourself about the character's developement in AC... we will see.
