Charging station. Worth It?

It's always useful to have one. It's worth the price if you use it even if you don't have to. It's more a gadget than a necessity but it's an useful gadget. So if you can afford to get one, go for it.

Save you money!

A charging station is definitely not worth it when you can just plug the controller in to your PS4 USB port. There is literally no need at all for a charging station. If you do not like using your USB port. You can use a wall charger. There are much better options, than buying a docking station.

As the title states, anyone have the charging station for the controllers and are they really worth it. Trying to figure out the benefit of it since I can charge them with the cable already.
If you can charge your controllers already, then a charging station would just be a luxurious accessory.

I picked up a charging station because I thought it looked cool. Like someone previously said, it's a nice little storing spot for your controllers when you're not using them. However, I wouldn't say that it's a must-buy. You'd be alright charging the controllers with the cord if you wanted to save a little bit of $$.

I bought a charging station when I picked up the PS 4 and I have to say it is worth it because you no longer have to always have them plugged in to charge them, but rather if you put them on the charging station over night they will be full battery over night. They also look cool while they are charging on the dock and it keeps it a bit neater.

the charging dock just looks cool though. i use mine as a holder to place my controllers in when im done playing with them. but yeah its almost pointless in a way because you have the charging usb cord.

I think it is a must buy to be honest.
Charges the remote so quick!
Doing it over night means you have remotes ready for the next day.

I'd say they're a great accessory, they make it easy to charge your controllers and it's also a good looking place to keep them. My friend has one and it's actually really nice.

Picking mine up tonight - would have bought from Amazon but they're always sold out by the time I get round to buying. Still on the hunt for a Blue DS4 too.

Your controller charges when you have it plugged in and the PS4 off, a charging station is kind of unnecessary. Granted, as Matth said, it is a nice play to keep/store them.

I don't think it charges when the PS4 is off, only in standby.

I'm on the fence about a charger. Can you charge ps3 controllers on it as well? Do you think I could fit the PS4 gold headphones?

No,the DS4 uses micro USB while the DS3 used mini USB.
Unless you can find a charging station with both types of connections, which I havent seen yet.

I was leery of getting it but now that I have it I am glad that I got it. Like others have said its a good place to put the controllers when they are not being used.

The PS4 charger doesn't plug into the wall? I have a charging station for PS3 and I have to say it is a great accessory. Not only does my coffee table not look like a mess except the empty cups and dishes, I always have a charged controller and don't have to charge it while I play or leave the console on to charge it. I'm definitely getting one for my PS4 when I pick it up when the white one is released.

I ordered a station from China only for $7,00 but it is only the docking station there is no power supply. I need to get the power from PS4 or I can use my old Samsung S3 charger. It does not need to be original Sony brand for me thus I had the cheap solution. I also had charging station for PS3 but while the charge of them keep long it was not needed except keeping the controllers tidy.

But for PS4 controllers it is better to have it, because the charge is done in 2 days thus it is better to charge them over night. My TV is far(2-3 meters) from my seat and I donot want to play with cables connected to the controller.

I got the insignia charge base and love it.
Much neater then unplugging and plugging in a controller.
With how long the battery lasts on the ds4 I'd lose my mind if I had to dig the cord out of the drawer everyday to charge a controller. A 2nd controller and a charge base make quick work of swapping out a dead controller.
The ds3 wasn't so bad I didn't bother with a charge base for that as the battery lasted about a week.

Yes, It worth the price.

I bought it from Amazon when my PS4 controller was not charging properly. I tried to change my USB cable but the problem was not solved, So, it might be the fault of USB cable. But after buying a new charging station, I don't face any single issue.

I have one for my PS3 and PS4. Totally worth it. Among the first accessories I buy for a console now.
