Controller problem

Hi all

Was wondering if you could help with a problem I have with my controller here it goes.

My Controller ran out of battery and seemed not to be charging up so I reset it then it charged says full battery but then after ten minutes goes off, Now I have borrowed a friend controller and his charges up with my usb cable and last a long time. Not only that now my controller some of the buttons seem to do what they want i:e d pad stuck on changes camera view on games will not like me move left or right on main ps4 home screen. Had no problems previously to controller running out of battery. Please help!

I have looked into this more and I believe my battery aint charging on my ps4 so trying via my laptop if the battery is low would this affect the d=pad up button sticking on the main menu?
