Disc fix skipper pack?

Does anyone use a Disc to stop skips in your PS3 console? I have not bought one yet but I've heard that they are good. Do you wait until you have a problem or do you use it before any Game discs skip?

I don't have one, but if I ever DO buy a pack it'd probably be because I've got a problem already. I think it's smart to try and prevent the problem before it happens, though!

Proactive instead of reactive... yeah that is smart most times. I might buy it and run it just to see if it works (then again how will I know if I don't have a problem). Wonder if anyone has one of these!

I do not have a disk fixer. I have only had one scratched disk, and I just took it to my local video store. They fixed me right up, for free!

No, I don't have one either. The couple of disks that were scratched were quickly repaired at a local video store. I haven't even checked where these disk fix devices can be purchased from. Are they expensive? And why would you use them on disks that don't have any problems?

So far we haven't had any problems with the PS3 chewing up our disks, but it might be worth looking into one of these in case it gets hungry in the future. How much do they run for?
