Disc not accepted by drive

I bought the machine a little while ago I got it from a pawn shop and didn't notice till about the 5th day that it would not play a disk I normally just do downloads. I've tried replacing the laser and didn't know to make sure it was the exact right one so that started more problems. Now I've got cuh 1001a machine and I've got the bdp-0q0 logic board in with the correct laser the kem 860 i believe and it still won't accept the disc. Any thoughts? I've reinitialized the system all the way and rebuilt the data base and still no luck. Help!

A bad ribbon cable design by them causes a short if heavy sit on top then bad bum daughter boards as i see it man
