DS4 (PS Button) Start Up Issue

I'm having connectivity and power up issues with my controller. I can start the unit up with the controller plugged in via. USB, remove the cable and play on. However, I cannot connect or power up using the PS button. When trying to start the system without USB connectivity I get nothing but flashing 'white lights.' After doing some research I think my controller isn't paired correctly. I have only the one controller, however the original was replaced. When I play a game my colour is 'red'. I'm led to believe that this is telling me my controller is the 2nd pairing?

Can I reset and designate my controller?

I have tried to reset the controller via. reset button, though this only disconnects the controller and nothing more. When disconnected, to start the system up again I have to connect via. USB as mentioned earlier. Any assistance would be great.

Did you try resetting the controller I had this problem once back in November there's a reset button on the bottom of the controller you may need a paper clip to push it but this should fix your problem ..Let me know if this help

Yeah man, no good. Stumped.

I'd definitely take it to Sony Support then. I'm sure Sony will be of greater help since we don't really know that much into the PS4 OS yet. Other than formatting your PS4, or making sure it has power when trying to turn on from the controller, there isn't much help that we can give you.

Definitely. I just thought I'd try my luck and see if anyone had similar issues. However, all has been resolved now with a new controller.
