Dual shock 4 analog sticks wearing off?

My grips have started to wear after a few hundred hours of use. I'm just going to go out and buy a third party offering to get some grip back on my controller. I agree that Sony should have made the sticks with a higher quality material. However, the sticks are bound to wear out sooner or later, no matter what material you create them with. A few bucks to fix the problem doesn't seem outrageous to me, though.

I really don't want to use caps if I don't have to, I hope mine last a while or forever...
But I did order 10 new sticks from deal extreme for less then $5 to my door. That way I have them right away if I need to swap them in.

Mine hasn't torn yet but I already got the ORB Thumb Grips for it. I use the convex one for the DS4 and save the concave for backup. If you're a hardcore that are looking for more than just a cover than I recommend getting the thumb stick caps from KontrolFreek, they are awesome.

My material is wearing off as well. I am also facing a worse problem however; my R3 button consistently gets stuck for no reason at all when playing games. Do these controllers have a one year warranty on them?

I believe it is only the console itself but you could always phone up Sony and say that your PS4 is still under its one year warranty.

I know of people that while the PS4 is still under warranty have returned their controllers to their place of purchase and had it swapped for a new one on the spot.
You could try that first if not contact Sony and I believe they will replace it.

One of my good friends has this problem. Besides working and spending time with her family, every spear minute she has is spent playing on her PS3 and now PS4. The analog sticks on her controller had their fare share of wear and tear. Her favorite games are COD. She would and could spend hours playing COD online. She also finds that when she plays for long periods of time her hands can get quite sweaty. I recently went to her house and saw that she had thimbles on her thumbs while playing. I asked her what that was about? She mentioned that the thimbles helped with extra padding for her thumbs and all though her hands would still get sweaty it stopped the sweat from really getting onto the analog sticks. Just an idea. You may not like the idea of using thimbles but it does in fact help to protect the rubber on the analog sticks. Sure beats "forking out" more money to purchase brand new Dual Shock Analog controllers. :)

Get some thumb grip covers. This will help the problem and make the controller even more comfortable. Just Google "Best thumb grip covers for PS4".
