Excited to play inFamous?

Okay folks, I've finished watching this game though yesterday evening and I can only agree with Dean. It's the best game that I've seen (from YouTube anyway!) for the PS4 so far. I thought the storyline was respectable. The walkthrough I watched of it was on ‘Hero' / 'good karma' for your reference. It does trail off a little about three quarters of the way through in opinion but there’s plenty worse out there and the actual ending itself did almost leave a lump in my throat.

In terms of gameplay, again I can only be vague having only been a spectator. It seems there's lots to do between the story, lots of things to find and a selection of side missions. Getting that DUP control percentage in each area down could become mildly addictable!

The downsides? Well the angel/demon boss (with the lava floor) was very tedious to watch. My YouTube 'Walkthrougher' even commented on this. The final boss was also just as long-winded and found myself beginning to loose concentration. That's not something I do regularly… I know boss battles are supposed to be difficult. I'd rather them be a challenge rather than being no different to a regular enemy, but I must admit the boss battles in the latter half of the game do become repetitive and borderline on being tedious.

Obviously without owning a PS4 as of yet I haven't a clue how the game actually feels to play or what the controls are like – so I can't comment at all on that front. I'll leave that up to others to judge. I can't comment how it compares to other games in the series because I was completely unaware of it until a few weeks ago. Generally speaking I find games of this nature a bit too 'oddball' for me, but I did enjoy this particular one. I found it much better than the highly-rated Thief, anyway…

For me, it rates as a solid 8/10 all day long. I did enjoy it overall from a spectator's perspective and maybe there will be a day I'll get the chance to play it for myself.

Very encouraging description, Heymansafc. The game waits for me at home and the adventure begins this week. Hopefully you will have a chance to play it too soon.

I consider Infamous 1 & 2 to be the third best exclusive from the PS3 just behind The Last of US and the Uncharted Trilogy.

As for Second Son, I have had the most fun getting extra shards from the 2nd part of the city after completing the Angels and Demons Boss and then going back to the first part of the city and absolutely kicking ass and clearing whole sectors. You feel like so much more of a bad ass going back over the bridge to the first half of Seattle.

I do complain some about things that could have made ISS a truly Great Game but it is a very good game and gets an 8.5/10 and is a must have for anyone even remotely interested in this game. For the record, the only superhero games I ever liked were the Arkham Series on the PS3.
