Favorite RPG on the PS3?

What RPG did you enjoy the most on the PS3?

For me it was Mass Effect 2, it was the best game of the best rpg trilogy in my opinion and the one I found to be the most fun with also the best storyline.

Ah that's a tough one! You know what? I might have to agree with you regarding Mass Effect 2. Then again, does South Park: Stick of Truth count?

I am going to have to 100% agree with you. Mass Effect was one of the most fun/addicting games I have ever played in my life. Do you still play it? I know I do quite often! haha.

Fallout New Vegas or Skyrim. I'm also a big fan of the Mass Effect series but I tend to prefer open world games over narrative-focused games.

Another great RPG that I also loved although it was not perfect and had its share of problems was Alpha Protocol. A shame the game did not do very well, I would love a sequel.

Mass effect has to be the sickest thing that has ever happened to my PS3 and I am not saying just to say it. Honestly there hasn't been a video game in a long time that I really enjoyed the way that I enjoyed the Mass Effect Series. Man that game is of the chain. Another game that I really enjoyed a lot and that I still enjoy today is GTA 5 and also the Uncharted series. Never have I played video games that have been so fun for so long that you could just literally sit and just play them for hours and hours!

Alpha Protocol really could have been something special, I didn't think there's any other game quite like it, the mix of RPG, Action and Stealth was very unique.
I think it was developed by Obsidian, and if there's something they can do right, it's set up a great storyline with lots of choices.

Also Alpha Protocol had potential. Games like that deserve a second game and some time in development to get it down and warrant a third.

Final Fantasy XIII-2. A lot people hate it and the game has some major flaws. But god I love this game. As a long Final Fantasy fan I'm a bit biased. For me the game express more the Final Fantasy spirit than FFXIII. The monster taming system is just too good. The story and overall the ambiance of the game is amazing. If you like JRPG I will suggest to try it.

Valkyria Chronicles is the only title I can think of that was only the ps3 and wasn't later ported to pc. I played Mass Effect 2 and the Fallouts on pc when they came out, Dark Souls is another great one but it came to pc. VC is a criminally underrated game and its a shame we never got the final game in the series here in the US.

Final Fantasy XIII-2. A lot people hate it and the game has some major flaws. But god I love this game. As a long Final Fantasy fan I'm a bit biased. For me the game express more the Final Fantasy spirit than FFXIII. The monster taming system is just too good. The story and overall the ambiance of the game is amazing. If you like JRPG I will suggest to try it.

My favourite RPG on the PS3 has always been Final Fantasy XIII. I found that to be a pretty good game, and come to think of it, I haven't even finished it yet. There are so many side missions which keeps the game interesting and encourages you to play better. The only problem I've had with that game really is the walking. Sometimes you have to walk really far just to get from one destination to another, then all the way back for a side mission.

XIII-2 is more open since you can travel through time at will but areas are still kind of linear. Not as linear, though. It's much better than XIII but I like both.

Anyway my favorite now is Dark Souls 2. It's the best Souls game so far in my opinion, though I love them all equally. I place all Souls hames in 1st place.

Dragon's Dogma deserves 2nd place due to its simply excellent combat and unique skills. Even better with Dark Arisen!

Dark Souls was of course excellent, but I just missed the Nexus from Demon's Souls a lot. =p Great set of games those two, but...

I guess you can say Skyrim and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen stole my heart. Skyrim because of the large world it provides (excluding the early bugs. Lol) and the funny moments I was apart of in the game. The game was always active. Never knew when you'd see a Giant swinging on people or when a bear attacks a pack of wolves. Just very interactive and enjoyable from that alone. Also gained a natural bond playing it for sooooo many hours on my quest for a platinum trophy. Then Dragon's Dogma didn't get enough love. That game is excellent. I think it was overshadowed by Demon's/Dark Souls and maybe Dragon's Age. Loved the ability to climb on larger enemies and what unique things you could do depending on your class. Wish Skyrim had some of the same battle interactions.

This is true. The series is also one of the reasons for western players being wary of Sega's localization practices. If it isn't Sonic, they're known to leave some series hanging or no attempt to tie them up.

Mass Effect 2. When that Suicide Mission music plays, I get goosebumps. I think they did a terrible job of introducing Cerberus though. Maybe I missed them in the DLC for ME1, but for the role they played in the franchise, I'd have thought they'd have a more prominent role in ME1.

My favorite RPG's available for the PS3 are Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Oblivion and Skyrim. Bethesda just knows how to publish a good RPG and they never disappoint. I have spent loads of hours playing these games I don't plan on stopping any time soon.

I have to say, Southpark: The Stick of Truth. I don't know man, I never really liked RPG's before, but this game I just can't put the controller down. Maybe its because I'm a fan of the series, but I think the game is pretty good even if you're not a fan of the show.

I'm gonna have to go with FFXIV. It's an MMO, but still an RPG, and it has all of the awesome FF bits included. It's great on the PS3, too. I love it. Too bad it came so late in PS3's lifecycle, though.
