I usually always buy Turtle Beach on my xbox's, but seeing as this is my first playstation for a while and I already have the xo7 on the xbox one, my question is.

Any good headsets out there for the PS4 that don't cost to much? Would like to know what people use and recommendations etc.

thanks

Basically any stereo headset would work with the PS4. All it needs is a 3.5mm headphone adapter/plug. IMO you haven't experienced a true gaming headset until you use one that has a mix amp, and 7.1 surround.

Now I heard that there was one for like 19.99 or so that worked great with the ps4. I forgot the name of it, but once I get the name I will come back and run it by you. I am sure it may be the one that everyone is mentioning already. Yes we are trying to get one as well, because the Ps4 headset is nice, but it does cost a pretty pennyplus we kind of want the white one haha. Anyways yeah I would look around and see I saw one at Best Buy for like 8.99 or like 11.00 it was the Rocketfish™ Gaming - Gaming Chat Headset for PlayStation 4. Hope you find one that meets your needs.

thanks for the suggestions I will start looking into them.

I have to say the PS4 is amazing, why I wasted my cash on the Xbone I don't know.

Fair enough. I take it you have one then Ciel?

Sadly, nope. A buddy does, and I try my best to steal them. I am currently using the PX22 from Turtle Beach. They aren't too shabby, but pretty limited in what they offer and can get uncomfortable after long sessions. I managed to snag them for $30--on sale + employee discount--so I cannot complain all too much.

I bought the sony gold, but kinda wishing I held out for the new white version and white PS4. Good headset, though, for the money.

Would you guys say that a gaming headset is worth it? Or is it better to stick to the popular brands such as sony, phillips, sennheiser, etc?

A gaming headset gives you chat and game sound at the same time, and depending on what you get, also 5.1 surround sound.
If you use regular headphones that plug into the DS4's headphone jack you will only get stereo sound,no matter how good the headphone is.
Ofcourse 5.1 surround may or not be beneficial to you,if you play multiplayer games a lot, especially FPS games then it would an advantage as you can hear people moving behind you as well (depending on the game mechanics too, some work better than others).

Actually, I'm also looking for a gaming headset that works well for gaming on the PS4. I'm aware of the pulse and gold Playstation headset but I'm hoping for something cheaper. Can anyone recommend me one that's hopefully below $80.

Erm,how did you come to that conclusion? I guess value for money it is good yes.
But it is still 'virtual surround'.

It really ain't bad. I have the Sony Stereo Headset (got it for my PS3 but works great on my PS4) and it has virtual 7.1 surround. Is it the same as true 7.1? No and when this one craps out, I'll invest the hundreds in a truly great 7.1 headset. But for the hundred the person who bought it for me as a gift paid for it? Totally worth the money. When I played Dead Space or really any game situational awareness requires of the sound, it does a very good job. I can't speak for the newer Sony headsets but I would like to think they improved on the technology. If you can afford it, I'd buy a true 7.1 surround sound headset but if you are on a budget, Sony's virtual 7.1 is fine.

I've been using my Samsung Galaxy S5 earbuds to be honest with you, they work great and came with my phone and I didn't have to waste a lot of money for a complicated headset.
