Getting a new Hard Drive - Recommendations

Derri

, , Darkness, ,
I'm wanting to get a new Hard Drive for my PS4 as currently I'm filling up my new hard drive so easily since launch. I'd like a recommendations from people who either know about this or have changed it themselves.

Price - I don't want to be spending tons of money on something I can live without obviously but I'm open to all price ranges just to consider all options. Does Sony have any official drives or recommendations?

Thanks!

I can only tell you what I did, cant recommend any other cause since I changed mine Im sure there are plenty more available since then.
Changed mine day one on PS4 launch day 2 year ago in November.
I just went for a HGST Hitachi 1TB GB SATA III HDD 7200Rpm,from memory think that was the one.
No probs with it so far still OK.
Changing was very easy.Check the STICKY topic.

Thank you for sharing your drive and information.

I would like to get something around the 2TB range as if you take off the systems basic storage which is roughly 41GB and while that isn't too much, I think going bigger is the way to go. I'd like 7200RPM but that's not essential and I'm having trouble finding anything above 1TB with a 7200RPM that's compatible and meets the specs of working in a PS4.

When I got the 1TB I think next largest was 1.5TB,not sure. But that was almost 2 years ago.
I was looking at the SSD one's but couldnt justify the higher price tag.
Not sure they are really worth it,not in a PS4 anyway.

My 1tb PS is now full is it possible to save games on a hard drive? Or do I have to keep deleting/reinstalling games when I get new ones and want to play old ones etc?
