Getting New PS4

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking forward to buy new PS4 Console. but right now i am kind of confused should i buy it or just wait for a while.

this ll be my first console as i'm Pc Gamer but now its the time for me to say Adios to pc Gaming.

so what ll you guys suggest shd i go for it right now or wait till the Dec ?

But I'm not sure in your reasoning behind either buying now or buying one in 9 months time?

It depends how much you really want to get into console gaming, if it's now then sure, they're a few good deals around, but I'd expect that in November/December they'd be better deals in the run up to Christmas...

Hello and welcome to the forum Kop_Gore.
I tend to agree with KMJ,unless you really know you want a PS4 now regardless and have money to spare then go for it,but if you are not bothered at the moment, wait 'til later this year.
Better deals, more games, more PS4 firmware updates by then.

Thank you all for the reply.

so its just the firmware which ll get updated. not the hardware rite ? i mean they wont launch new model and stuff.

Like they did with ps3. or am i missing something over here ?

No they won't be launching a new generation of consoles anytime soon, it will be just the firmware that gets updated every now and then.

Yeah, the lack of games right now may annoy you, especially as being used to having so many to choose from on the PC. So I would wait for a bit.
But I really don't think you'll be disapointed with the PS4, that's for sure.

Welcome to the forums! I picked up my PS4 just last month and purely in anticipation for Infamous. With the many games due to start launching this month and onward, I would say now is the perfect time. More game announcements seem to leak out every week so looks like after the dry spell of the first few months, the ball is really starting to roll.

okay... buying it in upcoming 2-3 months till then i ll continue to play my pc games.(Likes of Fifa 14, Thief, Dota 2 and so on :D)

hope Sony ll soon announce Some freebies also :D

and yeah thanks again for everyone for helping me out.

There are already some freebies from Sony
DC Universe Online
Warframe
Blacklight Retribution

And if you have PS+ you'll get a free game to download every month, plus #Driveclub will be available to PS+ members (but you won't get the whole list of circuits/cars etc - much like a lite version, but you're still able to race against your friends)

But there is no date for #Driveclub yet (it's apparently been tipped for early April now)

You forgot to mention Outlast & Dead nation & War thunder.

Welcome to the forum, Kop_Gore!

It’s interesting that you want to move away from PC gaming as there are some absolutely cracking games available at the moment – especially if you’re like me and into indie and sandbox type of games. I must admit, as someone who has been a console gamer since the turn of the nineties when I got my first ‘proper’ console, I’ve actually converted slightly more over to PC gaming over the last few years simply because console gaming hasn’t been doing much for me at all in recent times…

Well, all I can say is that I’m yet to get a PS4. I was silly and bought a PS3 early on in it’s life and in my opinion, was absolutely ripped off for the privilege. I won’t be making that mistake again. I’ll happily sit back, wait for the fuss to die down, wait for the teething troubles to be ironed out, wait for the market to have a plentiful supply and then strike when the inevitable deals come.

No, I don’t suspect there’s going to be any official price reduction for quite some time and I think even the most tight fisted of people with money (i.e – me!) can wait for that. What I do expect however will be better value bundles / getting a bit more for your money. This is what I’m waiting for and I would suspect to see something like this in the second half of the year. I wouldn’t be ‘jumping the gun’ just yet as demand is still high with supply still relatively low, but that’s just my opinion. Each to their own!

Can I hold on until Christmas? Maybe. Maybe not. We’ll just have to wait and see. All I can say is at this moment in time I have no strong desire or need to upgrade… Either way, I will be completely and utterly new to the ‘online’ Playstation scene. I have no idea what to do, how to get a PSN account or anything…
