Ghosts: PS4 vs PS3

Ive been playing Ghosts on PS3 a few weeks before PS4 and Ghosts was released here in AUS.
But now Ive played it on PS4 and as soon as I saw it I noticed the diff straight away.
Many people say it doesnt really look next gen but if you played the PS3 version you know different.

The particle effects and lighting look great,as well as the graphics generally looking sharper and more solid.
After a bit I got used to it and thought nothing of it,but its when I go back to the PS3 version I notice the drop in quality.Its still good but you notice.Almost looks a little flat and murky in comparison.

Honestly though if you have the PS3 version already and even if you play it a lot I would say there is no real need to trade up,unless all your mates are on PS4 and you have the spare cash via game upgrade or even complete new purchase.It is the superior version obviously.
I have PSN friends with PS4 and Ghosts but none of my clan members do so when I wanna party with them I gotta use PS3 version.
But you can go back and forth between PS3 and PS4 versions and your stats,unlocks etc get downloaded to each as console as you start so you can continue on either one as you go. Thats good.

Now being the first CoD on PS4 I bet the next CoD and future ones will no doubt look better still.

Hey, I'd hate to disagree with you but just know it's my opinion but.. the biggest difference I see is just a tad bit more details. If you want to see a huge difference, play Battlefield 4 on PS3 then go play it on PS4. You will be blown away! Not only is the game bigger, more options, more guns, more ways to level up than Ghosts and every COD game but adding Levelution is just the icing on the cake. Seriously, it's like..."HOLY HELL HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?" I don't see how Ghosts on ps3 and ps4 are much different when you look at BF4 on ps3 then ps4.

My opinion though, I only played a TINY bit on ps4 on Ghosts and that was single player.

Oh yes,I agree for sure. (So far I only played the PS3 BF4 beta).
I mention Ghosts from PS3 to PS4 cause it does look better,no doubt.And I have both so wanted a comparison topic.(BF4 to come..lol)
But yeah,bigger diff from the PS3 to PS4 versions of BF4. Ive seen the vids and look forward to it. I have the game on order online.
And same with future CoD games,I bet the next BF game on PS4 will be better still than BF4.

Yeah,Ive seen many comparison vids already dont worry but even viewing these online vids at 720P is different to actually playing both versions.
Trust me,PS4 version is defo better,not just a tiny bit,perhaps not like BF4 PS3-PS4 better but I can assure you its very noticeable.
But thats why I also mentioned if you have PS3 version there is no real need to upgrade,up to the individual.

There is more detail, less blur effect, more particles, and most importantly 60fps makes the game look super smooth. I can only imagine what the future will hold.

I definitely noticed the difference between the Xbox 360/PS3 and the Xbox One/PS4.IGN had a nice video out comparing all 4 consoles past and present.

I couldn't find any pictures of the different anywhere, so I took my own. This is on the same vizio 60" led tv at 1080p with the same picture settings. I took these pictures with my Canon rebel t3.

Once you do there is no doubt PS4 is easily better,as it should be,but I mean its noticeable as soon as you start a game.

Definitely agree. Its not just that it looks better, but it plays so much smoother as well.

It looks better yes, but not as dramatic as you would expect.

I think essentially the PS4 version of Ghosts was just a high res version of the original.

There wouldn't have been too much graphical work done. Really you'll have to wait for a TRUE next get COD to see what they can really do.

It wasn't designed with the PS4 engine in mind so naturally they're not going to have taken all of that power into account.

It's always a good few years before we start seeing the best a machine can do.

But in my opinion, ghosts on PS4 is just a money spinning exercise, not much more.

You can see so much farther on PS4 and look at the textures. Oh and the mist/smoke effects. It looks a lot brighter too you just gotta know what to look at.

It's not mind-blowing changes, but they're easily spotted. I've already played it on both system and the PS4 one looks clearly better.
When I moved from the PS4 to PS3 I noticed the difference right away.

Exactly,I play on both,only on PS3 when I party with clan members as only one has PS4.
Anyway,as Ive said many times already.Going back to PS3 version you noticed the drop straight away,to me it looks a little flat an washed out in comparison on PS4.
PS4 is easily better,sharper,better to see distance,more solid,better lighting and particle effects.
For eg: Check prison stage level,see the light through the trees and the detail in the leaves etc,way way better than PS3. Throw a grenade in the dirt and watch the dust fly,PS4 has more detail as the dirt flies up.
The weather effects on that Stormfront map with the rain,looks easily better than on PS3.

But having said all that,I know that future CoD games a year or 3 down the track will look even better,will they play better? Who knows..lol.
