Ghosts will have higher resolution textures on the PC

With all the fuss about the PS 4 and it's capabilities, I think the PC is still king when it comes to raw power. Executive producer Mark Rubin said that the PC version of Call of Duty: Ghosts will have higher resolution textures than that of the PS 4 and Xbox One versions. Why are the next gen consoles falling behind the PC even before they're released?

I for one am really excited to see them supporting PC like this. It's not like their previous games have done bad on PC, but it's great to know that they are listening to PC crowd and delivering what they want.

Well, one reason would be price. I doubt you can use better settings than the console versions with a PC for 500 bucks. Also, there is always the ability to scale things up involved. Even if, in theory, noone had a PC that could actually run the game at 60 FPS with those details (which I doubt), on PC each user still has the option to go for lower FPS or get better hardware sometime later to make use of the potential of the game. Consoles don't have those features, especially not the latter.
Also, it's an old ass engine and probably not quite optimized for the next gen systems. Especially since games never take full advantage of the hardware on day one. So I wouldn't even say they are falling behind just yet.

It's hard to compete when the pc is constantly changing.

So true. I mean, computers don't even have "generations". People never buy them uniformly, and as such the producers have to keep throwing stuff into their PCs to keep people's attention. While the graphics of the new generation of consoles might be close to computer graphics now, half-way through their shelf life they won't compare to computers again. It's a sad truth, but it doesn't mean consoles don't provide a gaming experience that can't be rivaled (I can't play racing games on my computer, even with a controller).

PC is jut way better if you want a good FPS experience, but when it comes to RPGs and fighting games, I love to play them on consoles.

I don't think is anyone is surprised by it, tell me one game that runs better on consoles that exist in both platforms. That doesn't mean it's a better game, but when talking about performance, then yes, PC will let you have more control over that kind of stuff.

The thing is, once the playstation 4 is released, it will have very little upgrades - while the PC platform will have annual component upgrades. Graphic cards hardrives and etc. That's the problem, it keeps upgrading even montly. Although most people don't upgrade if they can still run games on their machine but still...

It's impossible to compete with the PC, it has better ... everything (except for playerbase)
