One of my favorite games on the Xbox is the Dead or Alive series. Before the series went to the Xbox (then eventually cross platform), DOA 2 Hardcore was released on the PS2 game console. I didn't pick it up though because I was so engrossed with the Tekkens and Soul Caliburs. Yes, I eventually played DOA on the Xbox then on the 360 then on the PS3 so I kinda made up to it. Still, I can't believe that I missed an all time great fighting game with sexy babes.
I haven't played dead or alive either. Sould calibur dominated my free time when it came to fighting games. That and killer instinct. I actually played killer instinct for snes over my phone line against other games with the xband service! I'll eventually have to give dead or alive a shot somehow, some way. I'm surprised that none of my friends purchased or rented the game in all of these years.
As I stated in the earlier post, I never played any game from DOA series. I don't think they offer much value, but I may be wrong since I haven't played any in the first place.
Meh. Dead or Alive 2 was a fun game alright but could never quite touch the Tekkens and the Soul Caliburs for me. The characters didn't stand out much in terms of their move sets and I pretty much only remember the game for all the wrong reasons. The series would have been forgotten if they hadn't released all the pervy beach ball games.
Lol. That's a nice observation there SpiralArchitect. I think it's true that a lot of gamers (specifically male) have come to know the series because of the beach volleyball. Maybe Tekken should do the same too. Tekken has a lot of pretty females in its character lineup. But I guess it no longer needs to do that because it's more famous than DOA.
