Great PC games from around 2003-2008?

I just got my old desktop reformatted and up and running, and I'm looking for some good games to play. It's not very powerful, so I was wondering what great games came in this time period, because I'd definitely be able to run those

That's kind of like asking how long is a piece of string? The bulk of good modern pc gaming came out in that time period. The sky truly is the limit on that question.

Half Life 2 is the first game that comes to mind, it's probably one of the greatest games of all time.

Yeah, i was think about that too. But that range is so... big, how am i suppose to list all the great games that came during that age?
The Chronicles of Riddick games are awesome, Prey and FEAR are also pretty cool.

Battlefield 1942.

I have many fond memories of that game.

You should get Battlefield 1942, it's free right now on Origin since it's the 10th year anniversary.
Other than that, it's a great game. This is the game that got me into the Battlefield series. So many fun times playing that game.

I didn't realize there was so much good stuff from this time period, I guess I'll just start looking into the best pc games and ignore the ones that are more recent.

Half Life 2, Dreamfall the Longest Journey, Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines.

If you like puzzle or matching games then you could play Bejeweled. They came up with a lot of good games and I quite enjoy Bejeweled Twist. You could also get Zuma, Luxor, Jewel Quest(lots of good games in this series). There is an infinite list. I like playing these types of games when I want a change of pace or I just want to play a relaxing game.

Well if you don't have money, there are plenty of free MMO's you could try and download. One of my fond memories was playing MapleStory, I believe it came out around 2005. But man I was so addicted to that game! If you like free MMORPG's you should check it out.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the Half Life 2, I've played that recently and you see that most of the modern games and based on the Half Life ideas. It's an absolute brilliant experience and I would feel bad for anyone that hadn't / doesn't play it!
