Hobbies other than gaming?

I'm just wondering what else everyone likes to do? How is your time balanced between playing PS and doing other hobbies and activities?

I have two kids that take up most of my time outside of work and an amazing wife that lets my play my PS4 after the kids go to bed in the evenings. LOL Other than that, I have a 25' x 40' complete wood working shop behind the house and I like to tinker with just about any projects I can get my hands on.

I usually play at night because I love to skate. I can spend an entire day at the skatepark and when I arrive home, it's really good to just sit on my couch and play videogames. :p

I enjoy doing my own photography and planning my business. Hopefully if I get this job today, I can do my photography on nights and weekends with the goal of owning my own business full time. Other than that, the only other thing I do is run my website which hasn't really taken a lot of my time lately. Time for a new project, lol. Also, if I get this job, maybe I can restore my Thunderbird.

I like to spend time in the gym. After my first year of university I weighed 295 lbs. It's been about 5 years since then and I've managed to maintain a solid 180. I love the gym; it clears my mind and gives me soemthing to work hard at day after day. During the weekdays I typically get up at 4:30am, get a workout in before work, and sometimes I'll go do a quick cardio or run after work. If there's some time left in the evening that's when I'll game for an hour or so (but it usually falls on weekends).

I'm also on a rec ice hockey team, and I do a lot of hiking/snowshoeing. I'm a drummer as well.

Lots of DJing in my room for a hobby.

Lots of watching movies / TV shows too.

Rest of the time I'm either at the pub or watching football. AFC fan till I die! :)

My only other real interest is travelling, cars and motoring. I'm one of those sad people who basically has a map book in their heads… I generally can get from 'A' to within a mile or two of 'B' just about anywhere on the UK mainland without any sort of guidance – and probably know a couple of different routes to do it also. By 'B', I’m not just referring to a largeish town or a city. I'm referring to a specific road or street within it. A sad hobby I admit, but it's just what I like…

Yes, I was excellent at Geography in school! Haha!

I do have an interest in Football (or Soccer, if you're in the USA) and I support Sunderland. I'm not from there myself, but my father's side of the family is. I'm not a huge fanatic who studies every aspect - more of a casual follower of the sport.

I have zero hobbies outside of gaming. I know, it's sad :( but many, many years ago I did play Baseball, Football and Wrestle in high school. I even played Baseball in college.

I guess being married for nearly 14 years and having two kids, my hobby is napping when I find time lol

I love to play Football (I guess those in the USA would call it Soccer), I'm not very good at it though but I still enjoy it immensely, and I love watching European Football as well, my favourite team is Manchester City, I also love reading, travelling, eating (is that a hobby? it should be lol), and surfing the internet, and hanging out with my friends.

I like movies, longs walks on the beach with a special lady etc etc...lol.. Sorry, this is almost sounding like a dating site..lol

I used to love radio control planes and also fishing but I havent done either for years now.

Some hobbies other than gaming that I engage in are:

- Digital Drawing & Traditional Art: Art is one of my driving forces, and I’ve been indulgent in improving myself ever since I was a child when I would scribble The Legend of Zelda related characters. I seem to have an attachment towards aiming for photo-realistic drawings seeing how it would really test my observational skills and all.

- 3D Modelling & Animation: I know this may lead to something game related, but I have yet to do modelling for the sake of putting it in a game engine. The idea of being able to recreate something, and emulating it to the best of my abilities as a virtual copy is what makes me go through hours researching all sorts of workflows.

- Lucid Dreaming: It may not really be a common hobby to most, but after going through a few years of practicing techniques, it’s been really easy knowing when I was lucid in a dream. I’ve taken a break from being militant about doing this, though I might start getting back into that habit.

- Meditation: I absolutely love it, and it’s honestly something I feel anyone can get into to be reflective and realize most of their problems can be handled if they know how to talk themselves into calming down. Finding ways to assess many problems internally can always be figured out somehow by a little introspection and inward concentration.

- Tennis: Not really something I have the time to do frequently now, but I absolutely loved playing this sport, especially during my High School years! I hope to start getting back to it in the future. It’s just one of those sports where the only person I could blame for doing horribly is myself. It’s really a mind-game, especially when looking at those tennis matches, and wondering how those players keep themselves composed (at least most of them). I just love the tactful nature of the sport, because it’s not something you can will aggressively all the time.

- Cognitive Development Activities: I’m probably just a nerd for even stating this, but anything I can do to improve cognition, reasoning, and all that fun stuff is an instant win in my book. I guess this would be a supplement with meditation, and the concentration developed from that definitely makes things like image streaming easier to do.

Not really all my hobbies, but just ones come off the top of my head.

I'm a huge football fan - I support Stoke City. I'm a frequent visitor to the Britannia Stadium :)

Other than that I'm a dog owner too to Snoop. She's a big dog so walks take up a fair bit of my spare time along with my running plan.

Over the past couple of years I've been a bit lazy with regards to my weight and fitness, so I'm currently doing the couch to 5k plan. I'm on my second week and the 5K milestone is easily within reach. Hopefully in 6 months I can run 10k quite comfortably and have lost a few pounds in weight :)

Anther big football fan,, Rangers season ticket holder. So going to the games and supporters bar (if that can be classed as hobby)

My other hobbies would be Fly Fishing and Fly tying,, since leaving the forces I got a job working for Hardy and Greys who design and make fishing equip,,so an easy job to go to in the mornings.
Also Going to the Gym, Swimming and jogging.

After all that I have the wife and kids so no time for much else right now. :)

Nice,Ive done plenty of Fly Fishing and fly tying, well not for many years now but I didnt prob 10 years ago and more.
Actually my brother and I thought we could go into business making and selling our own, purchased our business name and all..we did sell to a few local places but there was just no money in it,not to live on anyway.

I used to prefer going to the rivers as just before dusk and try and catch trout on the rise..during Mayfly hatches.
Was never a fan of nymph fishing but I didnt mind using big wet's from lake shore's. Cause some nice rainbow trout that way.

Cool,, have actually had a couple of guys from Australia come into the shop before. Was a place I never had associated with trout fishing before,,,, kind of always thought of Oz as to hot for them,, but what did I know lol. I also grew up trout fishing the on the rivers of Scotland,, the evening rise on the river clyde in the summer evenings you would think it was raining for the amount of circles on the water. Didn't mean you always got one tho :)

Got into the rainbow fishing over the last few yrs,, in the RAF it was a sponsored sport,, so we got time off work to fish lol,,,,,still prefer the river tho

lol...We also have have snow to mate. Alpine resorts for the 'snow bums' etc..lol.
But for sure,it can very hot here, especially now,its summer here and Im sure you've heard in the news over years of the fires AUS has had too.

As I type this its almost 6pm and its still 40.3 c where I am. And they measure that in the shade.
So either go swimming,or sit in an air conditioned house with a cold beer.:)

Cooking is another hobby of mine.

Any other wannabe chefs here? ;)

I currently have some easy made homemade crisps/chips in the oven. Tried and tested recipe too.

I love writing, so I'm always trying to focus on that when I have some downtime and I don't feel like gaming. If I'm feeling like getting out of the house, I love hanging out with friends and going out on the town, or seeing a movie and getting a bite to eat. Related to gaming, I love watching streams and often find myself watching my favorite streamers for longer than I would expect in one sitting.
