How many PS3 consoles have you been through?

I still have my original console from launch! I have a slim as well though but that's just so I can play in two different rooms depending on where I am. I haven't broken a single controller either!

I have been through only a single playstation 3 console, I am using the same console from the very beginning which I was presented on my birthday by my parents.

I have just been changing my controller two times as its button got very loose and it was difficult to play with it. My device has never got any treatment from the service center as it has never needed any repairs, I love my playstation 3 and take very good care of it.

Surprisingly I'm still on my first one. I figured the trigger buttons would wear after a while but many years later the controller is still going strong! Most other controllers from other systems crapped out after 2 or 3 years but not this one. It's my miracle controller.

2 Sony controllers..but I bought a bunch of 3rd party ones to see if I could find better...but my expericence tells me no..its almost impossible.Some are OK but none even as good as the original Sony ones.

Im just on my second one. Controllers have never given me a ton of trouble besides wireless controllers acting up and wired controllers wires getting chewed by my dogs or something like that. I think gaming companies are really good at making durable controllers that dont give way easily which is a really good thing considering we use them every time we play.

Second controller, so i can play with another person, but i started using the new one as my main because i like the finish on the controller, because it grips better. What i am really suprised is how the analogs still didn't brook after clicking L3 and R3 so much and forward at the same time, it really goes in a way that i don't like.

I often use my second controller as my main aswell once my first one has seen its seen its fair share of use. Feels nice to get a new controller though, like you have more control and the buttons/triggers arent loose. I remember my Xbox 360 controller was so broken that i had to take the things that make it vibrate out by breaking the part the mic goes into, to get into it. It was a ghetto operation but it gave the controller about another year of use lol.

My friend is still on his original two, though I suspect he's been alternating to keep them in good shape. If that was his strategy, it's worked perfectly.

I've bought several third party controllers for various systems and I agree with you completely. I'll never make that mistake again. I am going first party all the way no matter how much they cost.

Whenever I get aggravated, I tend to repeatedly bash my controller on whatever is close to me. It could be my bed, couch, floor, etc. It's a bad habit and costly, but I can't help it. If controllers could feel pain, they are being tortured by me.

I have friends who are like you. Their anger is the reason why they've been through so many controllers. Personally, I just play a ton of games. All those hours wear out the controllers. I've been worse off on other systems with cheaper controllers though.

Only one to be honest, and despite it has been dismounted a couple of times due to some glitches, it works pretty good overall and I can't complain that much, it even has fallen to the ground a couple of times, but this dualshock is made of stone, or I am a very lucky guy..

Maybe it's just me or I'm unaware, but I've only heard of a 3rd party controller being better for a console once, and that was for N64. 3rd party controllers are usually crap.

I've only ever bought one and that's all I've needed. However, I've had my PS3 for less than a year, so that should be expected.

I am on my second controller. The first one lasted me quite some time and I'm pretty satisfied with it. The price is hefty and I hope it could be a little less expensive. I've been playing a lot recently and at this rate, I'm sure this controller wouldn't last as long as my first.

Right. It's like "what gives, sony?". They knew that these controllers would not last very long for the hardcore gamers. You wonder if they are capable of making a much sturdier, solid controller and just refuse to do so in order to get us to shell out beaucoup bucks for new controllers. It's like what is said about the automobile industry: they could make a car that would last a million miles but refuse to do so because it is not profitable.

Well, when I lived with my parents, we all shared one Playstation 3, but we never had a problem with it and we never had to replace it. When I moved out to go to college, I ended up getting one of my own for Christmas. I also haven't had any problems with this one or had to replace it.

I've never had to replace any controllers, though I have four in order to play multiplayer games. I've had the same controllers for years and haven't had to replace them yet, which is nice because they are pretty expensive.
