When ps3 came out, it was close to $1000 where i was from. What do you think the Ps4 will cost? I feel that if the opening price is similar to the opening price of the ps3, I wont buy it until later. I just cant afford it.

$1,000 would be outrageous, especially in today's economy. But Sony does need their profits so If it's $1000, I won't be buying until later.

I think it will be roughly the same price as PS3 was to be honest. I think if it's any more on release date then it will be a maximum of $100. It's going to be expensive no doubt, so I too will wait a while before purchasing it.

Many people are looking forward to the release of the PS4 including me, so I'm sure they will take some advantage of their customers. If anything, it would be 100-200 more than when the PS3 first released. I'll be surprised if they actually release it close to one grand. If they do, I don't think I'll be buying a PS4 at all, even when the price drops. Unless they offer an exclusive bundle with a lot of games with it, I can spend my 1000 elsewhere.

I think there is a possibility that it will be between $400 to $500 when it would initially come out. I hope that it would cost less though because it's really hard to dish out that much money just for a home console. If the launch games are not that good, I'll probably wait for the price to drop before I purchase. But if the games are good, I'll try my best to get one at launch.

P.S. I also think that $1,000 for a console is over pricing.

I'd like it to have for $300 which I dont think they would price it that low at its released but may opt for $400 or $500.

Or Ill just wait for a price drop after a couple of weeks and that is for sure to happen.

The reservation price right now for both Xbox and PS4 is at about $500-$600, if I'm not mistaken. I think that's an excellent price as an initial one, and I may even let it pass at $700. I'm not really picky with the initial price anyway, since I usually wait for significant price drop before I purchase so there would be more games available by the time I buy one.

where are you from? Mars? because 1000 $ for any console is outrageous! I imagine retailers will try and push it for 450-500$ at the start and will end up being somewhere around 350.

Let's hope they don't pull a "PS3 Launch" price and just stick with something like 399$ or 499$ maximum.
Other than that, i think i would wait for a new moderl or new price.

My guess is around $500, but who knows. The PS3 was absurdly expensive when it first came out. So much so, in fact, that I didn't even get one until a few months ago. I found the notion of paying $600 for a console to be absolutely absurd, and I still feel that way today. The most I'd pay for a new PS4 is $350, unless something dramatic happens between now and the release date that changes my mind.

My guess for the PS4 cost will be about $500-$600 at least. Sony haven't confirmed their prices yet. I'm pretty sure they will be releasing their price at the last minute, though! I don't think Sony wants to make the same mistake like they did with the PS3 lmao.

I believe it will be around $300. I think it will be a reasonable price. Not too expensive but not too cheap. The PS4 might be one of the greatest consoles ever to be released.

This topic is a little pointless now as prices have been announced some time ago so no guessing neccessary.

See here: http://ps4forum.com/32-playstation-4/592-ps4-cost-$399.html

Topic will be closed then.
