Is Playing Online Worth it?

Is playing online worth it?

I tend to not play online as it kinda sucks. Though playing with friends is kinda fun.

What about you guys?

I think playing online can be fun. I honestly get sick of the waiting times though for some games. One game in particular that really drives me crazy when playing online is GTA4. I really hope that in GTA5 they improve the online issues, as way too often the king is not pressing "X" in order to start the game, and there is a bunch of people waiting. This happens so, so often and I really don't see why, maybe it's some strange fad. Another big issue is that the connection will be lost during a game, randomly, at any time, and this is very annoying.

Very occasionally I will play online. On the PS3 I don't really encounter many a-holes who like to throw F-bombs and insults my way, but on the 360 there are a ton!

If you have friends to play with... sure, you can have some nice times.

I still remember when me and my buddies would form a posse and just around the desert, being a bunch of bandits and killing everything and everyone.
I miss those times...

While I find that it's more fun playing online on PS3 than Xbox (less jerks on the PSN, I find), as a girl I'm still a bit wary of playing with strangers. It's not as bad if I don't use my headset, but I find that the second I open my mouth on there there's always *someone* telling me to go make them a sandwich, get back to my kitchen, or just generally being sexist towards me. Meh.

If my PSN friends are online, I definitely go on. I've had a lot of fun playing with my IRL and online friends. Honestly, I'm more of a co-op person, though most games don't seem to offer that anymore. My friends and I like to get together and play in the same room as each other!

I play online when I want to kill myself.
No, but really, the kids in many games that use voice chat are extremely annoying. I just can't deal with them.
I prefer to stick to the single player side, or co op with my friend.

I played online a couple of times and it was funny but annoying. There, were kids that play XBL who were just trolling constantly. Some of them was just saying the same cuss word every minute for no reason.

I bought BF3 when it came out. As you probably know BF3 is mostly based off multiplayer. It's nice that PSN is free, unlike XboX. Sadly, I dont have any friends to play ith me, but overall, I enjoy the mulitplayer experience. I think it just depends on what game you're talking about.

I don't play online as much now, but most of what I did was CoD. (Of course.) It depends on how easy it is to just turn on your system and hop into it though. Some games have online modes where I just didn't care to bother because it looked like it would take a while to learn or do any good with. Also, I have a very bad internet connection so I would often get dropped from the online and it makes everything to frustrating to keep trying.

I play online from time to time. But with the crazy people mostly on X-Box Live, I don't as much anymore. PS3 people are mostly cool but sometimes they don't talk or conversate enough during game play for me.

I always have a lot of fun playing matches of FIFA 13 against my friends. It's probably the only game I play online on consoles nowadays, got pretty fed up with all the angry 12 year olds shouting into their microphones on COD.

Playing online is okay but I would rather opt for playing on the console. I just get a better experience playing my friends at home than I would playing some random stranger online. I have also heard stories of people going crazy online when they play people. That is not a situation that I want to deal with at all.

Do you find game soccer to be much more fun than real life soccer? I can play a FIFA game but don't ever ask me to watch a soccer match on tv.

I kind of have a love-hate relationship with online gaming. On one hand, it is nice to be able to play against players from all around the world. It's nice to get a challenge from people in Japan, France or the UK. However, the thing about playing online is that people can easily exploit certain aspects of the game. Sometimes people will take the fun out the game by only playing a certain way. Still I don't let that deter me and find myself enjoying online gameplay from time to time.

There is some games I like to play online like Cod or something and there is some which are much better in single player.

I always play online, I even make sure a game has an multiplayer option. Playing with other people online makes the game so much more fun and competitive. Also, when you play with friends, it gives you a gaming experience like never before. You can all enjoy the game together and have a good time.

Whilst online is good, I always preference the old school local play over it. Few mates around, few beers etc.

For me it really depends on the game.
Some shooting games like Battlefield 3 and Black Ops 2 I really enjoy playing online.
While games like Fifa and other sport and racing games I prefer playing offline. I don't really like playing Fifa online because everytime I have played against a random guy really far away so it laggs really bad because of the distance, I always end up with red cards because my tackles are too late because of it.

I love playing online. Having a good single player experience is wonderful but to have that longevity online is important. Games like Battlefield and Call of Duty epitomize this idea.
