I was just talking about this topic with my friend as well. Playstation Vita does not have a wide variety of games either. Nowadays they are not creating any good games consistently. There are periods of time, when they will come out with high rated games, then months later they release poor games.
About all I see for the Vita is watered down ports or indie games. Don't get me wrong for there are good games but nothing that interests me that much. I would get rid of mine but the serial number lable fell off plus it would be a cool accessory for the PS4. I just hope Sony gets more games out for it. I have the same gripe about my Wii U.
With the introduction of all the different features the Vita and PS 4 have together, I'm certain that you'll have a lot of enjoyment ahead of you with your Vita. Its going to be amazing to see how the two devices work off of each other.
Yeah, once the PS4 hits and the ability to interact with the Vita goes beyond gimmick territory, we'll see more dev interest in the handheld and possibly more AAA titles. It really needs to happen, because the 3DS is just crushing Vita right now.
Well, it's pretty clear they are not looking to put Vita in the ground yet. Maybe a more apt way of looking at it is they are looking to reanimate the corpse? All they need are great crossover tricks and (as was mentioned) that title or those titles that make people feel as though this was something missing in their gaming repertoire.
The Vita needs two or three series that you can't find on PS3 or PS4 and aren't ported over. You know, distinctly Vita games. Tearaway is a good example of one. I would've brought back Crash as the Vita's flagship and mascot. Put out two or three good Crash games on the Vita to show it's an "everyone" handheld and not just a "big kid" or PS fan only handheld.
A monster game would do wonders. If Monster Rancher or even Digimon main games were Vita exclusives that would help. Hell, MR was a PS game only for years.
The overall lack of games isn't necessarily the issue. The main issue is that what you get on Vita you can generally get on PS3/4. Most of them are ports etc.
I kinda want a vita now that pairing with the PS4 can be a big thing but I'm not desperate for one.
